Patrol Report 02/11/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 171 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight February 10 to 7:00 a.m. on February 11, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“ADAM”  District

Corpus Christi Police Officers are investigating a break in at the Hilltop Community Center, 11425 Leopard Street.

Employees of the WIC office, that is inside the community center, arrived at work and found that a rear window had been pried open.  Once inside the suspect attempted to steal a Samsung flat screen television from its wall mount. When the suspect was unsuccessful in getting the television off the wall, they left.  The television did not seem to have been damaged.  No other property was removed from the office.

Officers are still investigating this case, and at this time, no suspects have been arrested.

Corpus Christi Police blocked off the 4200 block of Western Drive for a short time while they investigated a man threatening suicide in the back yard of his home.

Officers were able to observe the man from the back yard of a next door neighbor. While they were accessing how to approach the armed man, he passed out in a chair from all the alcohol and pills he had ingested. Officers were able to take the 40 year old man into custody and they took him to Spohn Memorial Hospital psych triage unit for a mental evaluation.

Officers did find a handgun next to his chair, and an I-pad that had a bullet hole in it.

Offense: Aggravated Assault

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about a man threatening his parents with a large knife at a home located in the 4500 block of Acushnet Drive.

The 70 year old female told officers that her 46 year old son, who lives in the home, was upset because his parents keep going into his room and “invading his privacy.” The son began a verbal argument with his mother while he was armed with a large Bowie knife.  He told her that if he found out who had gone into his room he was going to kill them.

The man’s 68 year old father arrived home and he was threatened also.  While officers were speaking to the son he continued to make verbal threats about killing whoever had entered his room while he was gone and he was taken into custody.

Michael Anthony Charo (09/04/1968) was arrested for aggravated assault, and the knife was recovered.

P.C. 31.03        Class B Misdemeanor

Corpus Christi Police were called to the HEB Store located at 3033 South Port Avenue after a female pushed a cart full of groceries out the front door without stopping to pay for them.

The female was able to make it across S. Port Avenue before officers contacted her.  When they asked her for her receipt she could not produce one.

Veronica Quiroz (11/22/1981) was arrested for theft.  The store groceries totaled over $275.
