Patrol Report 02/13/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 203 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight February 12 to 7:00 a.m. on February 13, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“BRAVO” District

Location: 6200 Saratoga Boulevard
Offense: Driving While Intoxicated
P.C. 49.04      Class B Misdemeanor

Corpus Christi Police were called after another driver observed a possible drunk driver pull into the drive thru at the Whataburger located at 6241 Saratoga Boulevard.

The caller advised that he had seen the 2002 Mercury Cougar driving all over the road, going across the median and back while traveling on Saratoga Blvd.  He followed the vehicle as it pulled into the drive thru and he called police.

Officers arrived and contacted the driver, Alejandro Lopez (02/01/1978) and after an investigation they determined that he was intoxicated and he was arrested.

While officers were investigating this call a female, driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla, pulled into the Whataburger parking lot.  She began talking to officers at the scene and she appeared as though she had been drinking.  After an investigation it was determined that the driver, Ruth Pina (09/09/1987), was intoxicated and she was arrested.

In both of the DWI cases, the suspects’ vehicles were impounded by officers.

Two Corpus Christi Police Officers on patrol saw a suspicious female in the passenger side of a parked car at the Sun Suites located at 5142 Oakhurst Drive.

When they went to investigate, the female was found to be in possession of a debit card that she claimed was not hers.  Inside the females purse officers also located a Texas driver`s license belonging to another female, an auto insurance card bearing the name of yet a different female and a Visa debit card bearing the name of a man.

The female said she had found all of the items at the mall.   Feliciana Murillo (01/27/1978) was arrested for fraudulent possession of identifying information, a state jail felony.

 

 

“DELTA” District

Offense: Aggravated Assault
P.C. 22.02       Second Degree Felony

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to a traffic crash at the intersection of Airline Road and S. Padre Island Drive. Callers to 911 reported that several people were fighting at the crash scene.

Officers arrived and two victims, a 19 year old female and a 20 year old male, told them that they had got into a disturbance over money, that they believed was owed to them, with two males they knew at the barge dock on Shoreline Drive. The male victim said that he got scared and left in his Acura with the female.  The two males he had been in a disturbance with began chasing them in separate cars.

The victim said that he was still trying to get away from the two when he reached the intersection of Airline Road and S. Padre Island Dr.  It was then that the male chasing him in a Honda Civic intentionally rammed his car into the passenger side door of the victims Acura, causing the victims vehicle to spin around in the middle of heavy traffic.

The second male suspect, who had been following behind the two, then ran into the intersection with a crow bar and struck the driver side window  of the victims car breaking it out. He took the victim’s car stereo and an I-Phone 5 and then ran across the street and gave the property he stole to a girl in his car and she left the scene in a blue car prior to police arrival.

Both suspects, Bradley Burkes (12/24/1992) and Jacob Pineda (11/08/1993), were still at the victim’s car when officers arrived. Burkes was arrested for aggravated assault, a felony, for intentionally ramming his car into the victim. Pineda was arrested for aggravated robbery, a first degree felony for taking the victims property by force.

At this time the victims’ property has not been recovered.
