Patrol Report 02/25/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 157 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight February 24 to 7:00 a.m. on February 25, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

 

“CHARLIE” District

Offense: Intoxicated Assault

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about a vehicle traveling the wrong direction on State Highway 358 near Rodd Field Road.

Officers spotted the 2013 Hyundai Sonata sedan traveling west in the east bound lanes of the freeway near South Staples Street. As the vehicle approached the Everhart Road overpass, it crashed head on into a white Dodge Caravan occupied by a 23 year old female driver, her 24 year old male passenger and three small children.

The male passenger suffered a broken leg. The female driver is being treated at Spohn Memorial Hospital for injuries that were thought not to be life threatening. The three children ranging in age from 3 years to 5 months old were not injured.

After an investigation, officers determined that the driver that was going the wrong direction was not injured, but he was intoxicated. Zachary Glazener (06/08/1994) was arrested for intoxication assault because of the serious injuries he caused to the occupants of the white minivan.

A driver that was fleeing the scene of a crash at Everhart Road and Mc Ardle Road didn’t make it far before crashing again.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer was on his way to the first crash when he saw a truck traveling south on Everhart Road, leave the roadway and strike an AEP utility pole.

The officer contacted the driver of the 2013 Ford F150, who was not injured.  After an investigation it was determined that he was intoxicated. The driver, Skot Snelling (12/02/1988), was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Officers investigating the first crash determined that the truck crashed into the rear of a silver Nissan sedan at the intersection and left the scene. One of the passengers in the Nissan was transported complaining of head and neck injuries to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS.

A homeowner called Corpus Christi Police after several shots were fired at his home located in the 3100 block of Brawner Parkway.

The male and female were inside their home sleeping at the time of the shooting. They found several bullet holes in the dining room and living room.

Officers arrived and found three shell casings in the street in front of the residence. There were no injuries, and the couple could not give any suspect vehicle description. They believe their 18 year old son may have been the target of the suspects.

Officers continue to investigate this crime, however, at this time no suspects have been arrested.

A 36 year old female clerk called Corpus Christi Police after two suspects took a money tray from the counter of the Stripes Store located at 3102 Ayers Street.

The clerk said she was standing behind the counter and was counting the money when two males walked in together and asked to use the restroom.  They both went to the restroom, then exited the store only to return.

The two suspects tried to distract the clerk by one pretending to buy a lighter, and the other knocking over a chip rack.   During the commotion one of them grabbed the tray of money and fled out of the store.

One of the suspects was described as a Hispanic male about 15 to 18 years of age, wearing a white t-shirt with a black logo in the shape of a diamond on the front.  The other suspect was a white male wearing a black hoodie with a red shirt underneath and blue jeans.

The store clerk believes that the suspects got away with less than $50.  Managers from the store have provided  camera surveillance images of the suspects from the store.
