A 22 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he spotted his stolen car being driven on Highway 44 near the airport.

The victim had reported his 2003 Ford F350 truck stolen on February 18.  Just before 6 AM this morning he spotted it, occupied by two suspects. He followed the truck while calling the police.

The stolen truck pulled into a business in the 5100 block of Agnes Street as officers arrived.  Alonzo Soliz (05/07/1992) was behind the wheel and he was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

His female passenger, Monique Ramirez (12/171980), was also arrested when she was found to be in possession of blank checks that did not belong to her.  She was charged with fraud, a state jail felony.

Corpus Christi Police were already investigating a burglary at a home in the 600 block of Elesa Street  that occurred on February 25 were the suspect entered the house by pushing in the air conditioning unit and crawling in through the window.  On February 26 at about 1 PM, officers responded to another burglary, this time at a home in the 800 block of Duncan Street.

In this case the suspect had made entry into the home in the same manner and the 72 year old male homeowner was home and confronted the suspect. A neighbor next door heard the homeowner yelling and he ran outside in time to see the suspect run out of the house. The neighbor gave chase but lost the suspect a couple of blocks away.

Responding officers arrived in the area and checked a bar and found the suspect sitting in the back. The suspect, Alex Teniente (05/02/1975), was arrested for the burglary on Duncan Street.

They are investigating as to whether he is responsible for the burglary the day before at the home on Elesa Street.

Corpus Christi Police responded to several calls about a vehicle going the wrong direction on the Crosstown Freeway near downtown.

The 2011 black Jeep Wrangler was traveling north in the south bound lanes of the freeway.  Before officers could arrive the Jeep collided into a red Dodge truck on the flyover leading to the Crosstown freeway south from IH 37 north over Leopard Street.

The 48 year old man driving the Dodge truck was not injured.  The wrong way driver was not seriously injured, but she was taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital to be treated.

After an investigation, officers determined the wrong way driver, Tiffany Rivera (12/09/1990), was intoxicated and she was arrested.
