Corpus Christi Police responded to a single vehicle crash in the 5800 block of State Highway 44. The 29 year old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash investigation revealed that the driver of the 2006 Dodge Durango lost control going west on Highway 44 coming from State Highway 358. The SUV left the roadway and traveled into the grass, striking a safety cable wire in the median, and then it flipped across the eastbound lanes of Highway 44. The SUV came to rest in the grass between the westbound lanes of Highway 44 and the access road.
There were no witnesses to the crash and no other passengers were in the vehicle.
The medical examiner arrived and removed the driver. It is unclear if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
Traffic officers continue to investigate this crash.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a stolen suburban traveling in the 700 block of North Staples Street with three people inside. The 2001 Chevrolet Suburban was reported stolen on February 27.
The driver, Dwayne Madison (02/03/1969), was taken into custody. One of the passengers, Jessica Morales (05/22/1991), was arrested, for possession of drug paraphernalia, after a crack pipe was located in the center console cup holder near her.
The other passenger, a 61 year old man, was released.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a one car crash with a utility pole in the 1400 block of Santa Fe Street.
Officers arrived and found a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban was traveling south on Santa Fe Street, behind Spohn Shoreline Hospital, when the driver lost control, went up onto the raised brick median and hit a light pole.
After an investigation the driver, Meredith Ann Waterhouse (04/19/1972), was determined to be intoxicated and she was arrested.
Damage to the pole was estimated to be $5000. There were no other passengers in her vehicle.

Corpus Christi Police were called for a female causing a disturbance at the Whataburger located at 121 North Shoreline Boulevard.
When officers arrived they contacted a male and a female inside the restaurant who were having a verbal argument. While investigating this call officers were advised that the female involved, Melissa Lee (09/15/1988), had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for a robbery that occurred on July 4, 2014 at La Palmera Mall. The warrant had been issued on July 15.
The female then physically resisted officer’s attempts to take her into custody, and she was additionally charged with resisting arrest.
