Patrol Report 03/09/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 169 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight March 8 to 7:00 a.m. on March 9, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Store employees called Corpus Christi Police after a female suspect was caught shoplifting at the Wal Mart store located at 1821 S. Padre Island Drive.   

Officers arrived and were contacted by store employees who told them that they saw the female walk over to one of the registers and get some empty store bags.  The female then went to the apparel section and she began placing items into the bags.

She then attempted to leave the store without making any attempt to pay for the items inside the bags. Store employees stopped her before exiting the store and was she was told to give the merchandise back. The female handed the bags back, but then went back into the store and began selecting and concealing merchandise once again.  It was then that the store employees called police.

Officers arrived and attempted to place the female, Victoria Flores (05/03/1993), into custody.   She began to physically resist and was combative, even spitting at the officers.

All the items that the female suspect had stuffed inside her clothing was finally removed and she was taken into custody. She was then transported to Spohn Shoreline Hospital after complaining that her ankle was broken.

After being checked at the hospital she was arrested for resisting arrest, and theft, a Class B misdemeanor.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the parking lot of the Sam’s Club located at 4833 S. Padre Island Drive after a man driving a truck crashed into two trees in the parking lot.

Officers arrived and found that the driver of a 2012 Chevrolet truck had struck a palm tree and another tree.  The driver was sitting in the vehicle of another man who had seen the crash and stopped to help.

Officers contacted the driver of the truck involved in the crash, Donald Milton Sibley (09/02/1959), and after an investigation determined he was intoxicated.  After the man was treated at Spohn Shoreline Hospital for minor injuries, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash along the Crosstown Access road near Tarlton Street and found a female who said she crashed into another car because she was trying to get away from her boyfriend.

The 20 year old female victim told officers that she was at her home located in the 1900 block of Gardenia Court and was attempting to pack up her belongings and leave when her boyfriend arrived home.  She told officers she got into her car to leave and he started hitting her driver side car window with his fist.

She was able to leave in her car but the boyfriend followed her in his car.  The disturbance continued along the access road with the male ramming his vehicle into the females’ car until the female crashed into the back of a 2004 Lincoln Continental that was stopped at a red light.

The female being chased, and the driver of the Lincoln were both transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS with injuries considered to be non-life threatening.

The boyfriend fled the scene in his 2008 silver Jeep Liberty prior to police arrival.

Officers continue to investigate this assault.  At this time the boyfriend has not been arrested.

A 54 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he was stabbed in the chest one time by two men that were out drinking with him.

The victim told officers he was somewhere on Elizabeth Street near 14th Street with two other men and a female.  The victim said he did not know any of their names.

One of the men pushed him down and the other stabbed him with a knife and took a debit card from his wallet. He described the individuals as two middle aged Hispanic males.

The victim walked to his home located in the 1200 block of North Alameda and then called police.

Officers are still investigating this case, and at this time no suspects have been arrested.
