“ADAM” District

Offense: Fatal Crash

Corpus Christi Police responded to a fatal crash involving a small car and a semi-truck at the intersection of Up River Road and Suntide Road.
The crash investigation revealed that a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling east on Up River Road when it ran a red light and struck a semi-tractor trailer that was traveling north on Suntide Road. The car struck near the rear of the trailer on the drivers side and was drug several feet from the intersection.
A 69 year old female passenger in the car was killed.
The 57 year old male driver was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS for injuries not believed to be life threatening.
The 56 year old driver of the semi-truck was not injured. At this time
Corpus Christi Police Traffic Officers are still investigating this crash and no citations have been issued

Corpus Christi Police investigating a disturbance at a motel room found a 17 year old female being held against her will.
Officers arrived at the motel located at 6805 South Padre Island Drive after a call came into 911 about an assault occurring in one of the rooms. When officers and motel management arrived at the room they were told that there were two rooms side by side that had been rented by one person, and that several guests had complained about loud screaming coming from inside.
Officers made contact with the male who had rented the rooms and he told them that two females he was with were fighting each other in the other room. Officers attempted to make contact by knocking on the door of the other room, however, there was no answer. The manager even tried to use the master key from the office, but the door was locked from the inside.
Officers forced their way into the room and found a 17 year old female vicitm inside who had been assaulted. Also in the room was another female who had restrained the victim to keep her from answering the door when police were knocking.
After an investigation, officers determined that the male suspect from the other room had assaulted the victim, and then told the other female to hold her against her will.
Officers arrested the male, Deanglo Tate (09/01/1989), for a felony assault charge.
The female suspect, Jamie Carr (07/21/1992), which was holding the victim in the other room was arrested for unlawful restraint, a Class A misdemeanor.
The victim, who was not seriously injured, was taken for treatment.

A 57 year old store clerk called Corpus Christi Police after two males wearing masks robbed the store of cash and merchandise.
One of the male suspects was wearing a gray sweater with a black hood, dark jeans, white shoes, a purple mask and purple gloves. He was armed with a handgun.
The other suspect was wearing a white hooded sweater, dark pants, a red mask and also wore purple gloves. This suspect was armed with a knife.
The clerk told officers that both suspects looked to be young. The suspects took the cash tray from the register, thirty cartons of cigarettes and zig zag papers. Both left running on foot toward Robert Drive.
The store clerk was not injured.
Officers are working with store management to try and view camera footage. At this time no suspects have been arrested.

The mother of an intoxicated driver called Corpus Christi Police about her daughter driving around with her grandchild drunk.
The mother gave officers a description of her daughter’s truck and her last location. Officers located the Ford F150 truck in the 6700 block of Everhart Road and contacted the driver, Kirsten Whitener (11/19/1987).
After an investigation it was determined that the driver was intoxicated and she was arrested.
Her two year old daughter was also found in the truck.
After the female was in custody, officers found her to be in possession of synthetic marijuana.
The two year old child was released to her grandparents.

A 50 year old man called Corpus Christi Police from the Stripes Store located at 701 N. Staples Street after he was stabbed by four suspects.
Officers arrived and found the male victim had a large laceration to his right hand and to the left side of his face.
He told officers that two Hispanic and two black males stabbed him and took money from his back pocket while he was on the pedestrian bridge in the 1200 block of North Alameda Street. The victim then walked to the store to call police.
All of the suspects fled on foot. The victim was unable to provide any description of the males.
The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS for his injuries.
