Patrol Report 03/18/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 252 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight March 17 to 7:00 a.m. on March 18, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.
 

“BRAVO” District

Offense: Injured Person

Corpus Christi Police responded to a person that fell off a horse while riding on the beach.

Officers arrived and found a group of riders from a private company at Beach Marker 234.  One of the riders, a 34 year old female, told officers that while she was riding she fell off a horse that was spooked by a vehicle that was attempting to get free from being stuck in the sand.

The female was transported to Bay Area Hospital by CCFD EMS as a precaution with non-life threatening injuries.

Five guys in a Jeep driving down the beach were stopped by Corpus Christi Police for exceeding the 15 MPH speed limit.

Officers contacted the driver, Bryan Salas (06/18/1989), and while speaking to him they could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  He was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

The front passenger, Andrew Deleon (10/08/1991), was found to have a warrant out for his arrest for a burglary charge and he was arrested.

Officers found marijuana in a cup in the back seat of the vehicle and arrested both Cesar Ramos (08/04/1984) and Humberto Barbosa (08/03/1995) for possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

When officers went to arrest a third male in the back seat of the Jeep, he took off running on foot.  Officers chased him until he ran into the surf to escape.  Officers did not locate the 21 year old male that ran off, but they were able to get his name.  He will face charges of evading arrest and possession of marijuana once he his located.

The property manager for a storage unit located at 6652 Yorktown Boulevard called Corpus Christi Police after she found several storage units and trailers had been broken into.

The manager was able to view surveillance images from the property that show two suspects enter the fenced area of the property in a large moving truck.  While on the property, the two suspects force their way into three different storage units.

Also parked on the property were trailers with storage units on them. The suspects forced their way into four different trailers.

Officers are still trying to contact victims to try and determine how much property was stolen from each unit.

 

 

“CHARLIE” District

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Corpus Christi Police responded to a hit and run crash involving a truck and a utility pole in the 4900 block of Weber Road.

Officers found the wooden pole broke on the side of the street, and they were also told by a witness that the vehicle that had struck the pole had pulled over into a parking lot down the street.

Officers located the 2001 Ford F150 truck in the parking lot of a business located at Weber Road and S. Padre Island Drive and found the female driver still inside.

After an investigation officers determined that the driver, Victoria Ashlock (08/22/1975), was intoxicated and she was arrested.

The crash investigation revealed that the female driver was traveling south on Weber Road when she left the roadway and struck the pole that belonged to AEP.  The damage to the pole was estimated to be $5000.

The female driver was not injured in the crash.
