Corpus Christi Police were contacted after a 62 year old female customer arrived at Commercial Recycling located at 249 Bronco Road with an old military ordinance mortar round.
Employees at the recycling center saw the mortar round after the female had unloaded her 2002 Ford truck that was full of scrap metal.
The area was then blocked off and the police bomb squad was contacted.
The female stated that she found the ordinance while doing some cleaning at her property located in Sandia, TX.
Just after 5 PM the round was retrieved and the bomb squad took possession of the mortar.

Corpus Christi Police were called after store employees at Dillard’s, located at 5488 South Padre Island Drive, observed two females leave the store without paying for merchandise.
Store employees told officers that they observed two females, Christina Havelka (09/03/1996) and Miranda Coronado (03/03/1997), walk into the fitting rooms with various articles of clothing and exit with none.
The females attempted to walk out of the store without paying for a combined amount of $694 in clothing.
Both females were arrested for theft, a Class A misdemeanor.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a vehicle that had been reported stolen traveling down Ayers Street with two male suspects inside.
The officer was able to stop the 2004 Toyota Camry sedan and took the driver, David Martinez (07/29/1978), into custody. The driver was arrested for unauthorized use of motor vehicle, a state jail felony.
The 39 year old male front seat passenger in the stolen car was released.
The vehicle had been reported stolen on February 26 from a home on Tarleton Street near Del Mar College.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a car in front of him move out of its lane of travel and into oncoming traffic.
The officer was traveling north in the 700 block of South Port Avenue when he saw the 2000 Lincoln Towncar move across the solid yellow dividing line twice.
The officer was able to stop the car, and after an investigation he determined that the driver, Samuel Silva (04/27/1939), was intoxicated. The driver was arrest for driving while intoxicated, a third degree felony.
His vehicle was impounded.

A male passenger in a car not wearing his seat belt led Corpus Christi Police to the arrest of a wanted person.
The passenger, Richard Salazar (03/04/1996), was in the back seat of a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am sedan that was traveling in the 3800 block of South Port Avenue. The passenger was found to have two warrants out for his arrest. One warrant was for burglary of a vehicle with no bond. The second was for possession of a controlled substance. That warrant had a $5,000 bond.
The driver and other passengers in the car were not charged with any crimes.
