Corpus Christi Police are investigating the theft of two separate overhead light bars from vehicles in a neighborhood on the northwest side of the city.
Two victims reported that sometime in the overnight hours suspects used tools to remove light packages that were on their vehicles. One set of lights was removed from a 2013 Jeep parked in front of a home in the 4300 block of Nolford Place. It was valued at $1,600. The other light package was taken from a 2008 Dodge Ram truck parked at a home in the 11800 block of Paint Rock Road. It was valued at $400.
Officers were able to obtain video surveillance from the home, of the burglary on Nolford Place, and are still investigating this case.
At this time no arrests have been made.

A man called Corpus Christi Police after he saw two children go into the street in the 1200 block of Nile Drive.
The man said he was driving down Nile Drive when he saw a three year old girl go into the street, followed by a three year old boy. The driver had to swerve to miss the female.
When he stopped his car to check the child’s welfare, he did not find any adults around. He did find an open door to an apartment at the Coral Cay Apartments located at 6914 Mc Ardle Road.
Inside the apartment he saw a male passed out and he called police. Officers contacted the man inside the apartment and found that he had passed out after using synthetic marijuana.
The mother of the two children was contacted and she came home and told officers she had left the two children in the care of the man who was their father.
The father of the two children, Brandon Alaniz (06/24/1993), was arrested for endangering a child, a state jail felony.
The two children were left with their mother.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 7218 South Padre Island Drive.
A 24 year old man told officers that he was inside his apartment when he heard a loud crash outside. He went to investigate and found that someone had struck his parked vehicle. The force of the crash pushed his car into another, which pushed that car into a third one.
The driver that caused the crash had fled the scene in his truck.
While outside looking at the damage done to his vehicle the man told officers that he saw a 2010 Dodge truck, with front end damage, pull into the apartment complex parking lot.
The driver of the truck was contacted and held until police arrived.
After an investigation, officers determined that the truck driver, Brett Epperson (05/05/1992), was intoxicated and he was arrested. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and his truck was impounded.
