Patrol Report 03/26/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 207 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight March 25 to 7:00 a.m. on March 26, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“ADAM” District

Corpus Christi Police are investigating the fourth case of stolen vehicle parts reported this week.

The owner of a business located at 218 N. Omaha Drive reported that suspects cut the fence and entered the property. Once inside the suspects removed parts from a 2012 Chevrolet company truck.  The parts were valued at $3000.

Police are still investigating several other reports of stolen vehicle parts.  The first was on March 22 at a business in the 400 block of 44th street where a hood was stolen from a company truck.

On March 24, two victims reported that sometime in the overnight hours suspects used tools to remove light packages that were on their vehicles.  One set of lights was removed from a 2013 Jeep parked in front of a home in the 4300 block of Nolford Place.  It was valued at $1,600.

The other light package was taken from a 2008 Dodge Ram truck parked at a home in the 11800 block of Paint Rock Road.  It was valued at $400.

Officers are investigating whether these cases are related.  At this time no suspects have been arrested.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash along the interstate highway access road near Callicoate Road and once there found a car in the ditch.

A female driver along with her two children, ages 4 and 5, were still inside the car.  The children were seated in the back seat and the female was in the driver seat.

The crash investigation revealed that the 2014 Chrysler 300 sedan drove off the roadway and onto the grassy area for nearly 150 feet.  The driver then ran into a 3 foot ditch causing the vehicle to stop.

No one in the vehicle was injured, but after an investigation officers determined that the female driver, Morgan Rios (04/14/1983), was s intoxicated.  She was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child passenger.

The two children were released into the custody of their father.

Corpus Christi Police were called to a convenience store after a man armed with a machete robbed the store.

Two clerks were in the Times Market store located at 4114 Greenwood Drive when a male suspect come into the store through the front door wearing a red hoodie a black mask covering his face.

The suspect was armed with a machete knife and he forced both clerks behind the counter.  The suspect came behind the counter and took money from the cash register. The suspect then exited the store through the front door.

One of the clerks then tried following the suspect on foot but he lost sight of which direction he went.

Officers are viewing store camera surveillance to assist in the infestation of this robbery.  At this time no suspects have been arrested.

A 31 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police after she was assaulted by her boyfriend.

The female told officers that she arrived at her home located in the 1700 block of Elizabeth Street and found her boyfriend waiting outside.  A disturbance over her cell phone ensued and during the argument her boyfriend pulled a knife and grabbed the victim. He then held the knife to her throat.

When the victim freed herself the boyfriend smashed the victim’s car window and an attempted to get her phone that was in her car. The boyfriend wound up fleeing the scene leaving the phone behind.

Officers in the area found the boyfriend walking a few blocks away and took him into custody.  The boyfriend, Larry Hinojosa (01/27/1976), was charged with aggravated assault, a second degree felony.

The victim was not injured during the assault.
