Corpus Christi Police used a GPS service to track down a stolen Jeep and the suspect who had stolen it.
Police had originally been dispatched to an apartment in the 1800 block of Rodd Field Road about 90 minutes earlier. There they took a report from a 45 year old female who reported that her 2015 Jeep Cherokee had been stolen.
Officers were then directed to the 1500 block of Fifth Street by GPS equipped in the Jeep. When officers arrived in the area, they observed the stolen Jeep parked in front of a home with a male suspect in the driver’s seat.
Officers took the man behind the wheel, James Greene (07/29/1992), into custody. He has been charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a state jail felony

A 38 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she woke up to find a man in her home cutting the wires to a video gaming system.
The man appeared to have pried open the locked front door of the home to gain entry. This caused damage to the door frame of the home located in the 3400 block of Lamont Street.
The female home owner told officers that she was in her bedroom when she heard a loud bang from her living room. When she went to the living room, she saw the suspect, cutting the wires with a knife to her XBOX gaming system. The suspect then took the XBOX and left through the front door.
The victim said down the street she saw the suspect meet up with another male.
Responding officers found both of the males walking in the area. The second male took off running and was not located. The man who had been seen in the house was arrested. He was identified as John Reyes (11/11/1997). He was additionally charged with burglary to a vehicle after it as discovered that he had entered the 2009 Chrysler and rummaged through it.
Officers did not locate the second male suspect that fled on foot. He also could face charges if he is later identified.

A 52 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was hit by another man with a metal pipe.
The victim told officers that a man he knew had hit him with a metal pipe in the left leg and right hand. The victim said that he did not know why the suspect had hit him. The victim could only provide officers with the first name of the suspect.
The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS to be treated for his injuries.
Officers continue to investigate this crime, and at this time, no suspect have been arrested.
