Patrol Report 04/01/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 185 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight March 31 to 7:00 a.m. on April 1, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“ADAM” District

Offense: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

A 45 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his truck was stolen from a business located at 4575 Agnes Street.

The man told officers that he was at the business to load some equipment and supplies and that he had left his keys in the ignition while going inside. When he returned to the parking lot near the loading docks he discovered that his 2008 Ford truck was gone.

Just after 6 PM other officers responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle parked in the 1900 block of Marguerite Street found the stolen truck and the suspect who had taken it.

Officers investigating the suspicious vehicle were told by witnesses that they had observed the truck make a wide right turn at a high rate of speed from Seventeenth Street onto Marguerite Street and almost hit a house.

With the help of witnesses officers found the man who had gotten out of the stolen truck.  Officers arrested, Jamey White 903/17/1980), for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Corpus Christi Police were called to a disturbance at a bar with a man who left before they arrived.

Employees at a bar, located at 14300 Park Road 22, gave officers a description of the SUV the man left in.  One of the descriptors was that the SUV had only one headlight.

An officer later located that same SUV traveling on South Padre Island Drive near Stone Street.  He stopped the SUV for the defective equipment violation.

After an investigation they determined that the driver of the SUV, Samuel Briseno (07/12/1975), was intoxicated.  He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and his 2003 Chevrolet Suburban was impounded.   He was additionally charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon when a handgun was found in the center console of his vehicle.

A man attempted to hide in the shower from officers who were called to his home for an assault.

A 31 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after her husband came home intoxicated and assaulted her at their apartment located at 5502 Saratoga Boulevard.  Officers arrived and found evidence inside the apartment that indicated to them that there had been a disturbance inside.

They contacted the female who said that she had been assaulted by her husband, but was not seriously injured.  She told officers her husband was in the bathroom taking a shower.

When officers attempted have the man come out and speak to them, he refused.  After several minutes officers were able to open the locked door with a credit card and they took the man into custody.

Officers arrested the man, Gil Gastelum (05/08/1980), for assault.  He was additionally charged with interfering with an emergency call when it was discovered that he disconnected the call to 911 made by his wife by taking a cell phone away from her.

Two females shopping with two children took their time loading up items at a  Dollar General Store located at 3130 Morgan Avenue, then walked out of the store without paying.  The employee was then assaulted when she confronted the two suspects.

Corpus Christi Police arrived and the employee told them that two Hispanic females with two children spent nearly two and a half hours in the store loading up a shopping cart.  They both walked to the cash register with a cart full of merchandise.

They paid for a few items but the employee noticed that some of the items that they had in the basket were not given to her at the checkout stand for purchase. The suspects then pushed the cart out the exit doors.

The employee followed them out of the store and when she attempted to get the items out of the cart one of the females grabbed her wrist and started punching her with a closed fist. She was also punched in the chest and stomach at least four times. While attempting to get away the other female then punched her in the back.

One of the females was described as being 5`04″ tall, with red curly hair, in her early to mid-twenties.  She was wearing a black tank top and tan pants, with tattoos on her right shoulder.

The other was described as 5`0″ tall and slim, with black hair, in her early twenties.  She was last seen wearing a multi-color shirt with blue jean shorts.  She had one nautical star tattoo by each eye, tattoos on both arms, and chest tattoo with “Nadia” on it.

Both females and the children left the store in a brown four door car.
