Patrol Report 04/08/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 222 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight April 7 to 7:00 a.m. on April 8, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Corpus Christi Police responded to several calls about shots being fired in the 4100 block of Teresa Street.

Officers arrived and were told by witnesses that two black males in a small black SUV were shooting at a man in a Toyota Rav 4 truck. The Toyota was found abandoned with the ignition on and radio playing in the 1100 block of Horne Road. It had the back window shot out.

Officers found six 9mm casings in the street.

No victims were located, and the license plates on the Toyota were from out of state. The vehicle was impounded.

At this time there is no description of any suspects that were involved.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer responding to an unrelated disturbance call at a Stripes Store found a wanted subject and a stolen truck in the parking lot.

The officer arrived at the store located at the corner of Everhart Road and South Staples Street when he recognized a person he knew to be wanted walking across the parking lot. He was then seen getting into a truck that was parked near the gas pumps.

When the wanted person saw the officer approaching him, he took off running on foot north from the store.

Officers were able to locate the suspect, David Garcia (04/17/1980), hiding in a recycle bin that was in front of a home in the 700 block of Sam Street and he was taken into custody.

It was discovered that the 2011 Ford F250 truck the suspect was getting into was stolen. It had been reported stolen on April 5 by a 64 year old man while he was parked at Bay Area Hospital located at 7101 South Padre island Drive.

The suspect was arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and the outstanding arrest warrant for theft.

Three females who were inside the truck, were released at the scene.

Corpus Christi Police were called after two men left a store with stolen merchandise and walked to another store and tried to sell the items.

Officers arrived and were told by employees from the Wal-Mart Store, located at 1821 South Padre Island Drive, that two men were seen in the electronics section of the store taking video game controllers from the shelf, opening the box they were in, then exiting the store without paying.  It was determined that the two suspects had stolen  four brand new XBox controllers, each valued at $39.

Both men were then seen by employees walking across the parking lot and going to the GameStop Store located nearby.

Officers arrived at the GameStop and contacted an employee at that store who told them that the two men had just tried to sell the four XBox controllers.

Officers arrested both suspects, Jamario Licea (02/24/1994) and Noel Navarro (03/16/1991), for theft, a Class B misdemeanor.
