Patrol Report 04/09/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 201 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight April 8 to 7:00 a.m. on April 9, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“ADAM” District

Location: 3100 Agnes Street
Offense: Fatal Crash – UPDATE
Case Number: C1501470
A 56 year old man on a bicycle was killed when he turned into the path of a truck and was struck.

A 24 year old male was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck east in the 3100 block of Agnes Street in the left lane.  The man on a bicycle was also riding east along Agnes Street up on the side walk.

For an unknown reasons the victim turned his bicycle sharply and entered the roadway into the path of the truck and was hit.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

Corpus Christi Police Traffic Officers continue to investigate this case, but do not believe the driver of the truck will face any criminal charges.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a report of a man who had fallen off of a moving car in the 4400 block of South Staples Street.

Officers arrived and found the 26 year old man laying in the roadway near the curb with a female kneeling near him. The 24 year old female told officers that she and the injured male were going through a separation and he had called her to come over to his parent`s home where he was staying.

When she arrived the male started arguing with her and then he grabbed her cell phone from her hand. The female then attempted to leave and the male jumped onto the hood of her vehicle.  At a stop sign he got off the hood.  The female then proceeded to turn onto South Staples Street when she saw the male grab hold of the right side of the vehicle by holding onto the luggage rack.  She said she was going about 15 miles per hour when he either fell or jumped from the vehicle

The female then turned around to check on him and waited for police.  The male was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS with severe head injuries.

Officers continue to investigate this case to see if charges will be filed against either person.

A Eden Independent School District bus was broken into while students from that school ate dinner at a restaurant.

Nine students had items stolen from the school bus while it was parked at the Fuddruckers located at 1949 South Padre Island Drive.  It appears the suspects made entry to the bus though the doors that were closed, but not locked.

Nearly $3000 worth of miscellaneous property was taken from the high school students.

At this time no suspects have been arrested in this case.

Offense: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a car with defective equipment and stopped the vehicle in the 900 block of Leopard Street.

While the officer was speaking to the driver, and his two passengers, he was informed that the vehicle was stolen.   The officer was able to take the driver into custody without incident.

Ryan Vincent (03/14/1996) was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The passengers in the stolen car were released.

The car had been reported stolen on March 31 from Moore Plaza by a store employee who works at the Office Depot.

Case Number: 1504080041
An employee of a business called Corpus Christi Police after he discovered a counterfeit twenty dollar bill that his store had taken in sometime the day before.

The employee is still unsure when the bill was passed, but was going to look through store video surveillance.

Officers recovered the bill and continue to investigate this case.
