Patrol Report 04/30/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 197 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight April 29 to 7:00 a.m. on April 30, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“ADAM” District

A man was arrested by Corpus Christi Police after he attempted to use a counterfeit twenty dollar bill to purchase food from a restaurant on Leopard Street.

The manager of the McDonalds called police after the man gave her a bill to pay for food.  The bill appeared to match some other fake bills the restaurant had accepted before that turned out to be counterfeit.

The manager was able to contact police while the suspect vehicle waited at the drive thru window.

Officers arrived and arrested, Nakia Jimenez (10/08/1974), for felony forgery.

A counterfeit detecting pen was later used to confirm that the bill was fake.

 

“CHARLIE” District

Two teenage males called Corpus Christi Police after they were robbed while on their way to Kingston Park.

The two males were traveling together in a Jeep and as they drove up to the park a black male standing in the middle of the street waved at them to stop. As the victims slowed down, the suspect pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the victims forcing them to stop.

The suspect approached the driver’s door and took the victims’ car keys,  both men’s wallets, shoes, and cell phones at gunpoint.

The suspect was last seen running towards Panama Street.

He is described as being in his early twenties, about 5’10” tall with a thin build.

He was last seen wearing a red hoodie and red shorts.

Neither victim was injured.

At this time officers have not located the suspect involved in this crime.

A 45 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he was followed home by a man and then threatened with a gun.

The victim told officers he was driving to his home in the 3500 block of South Naylor Street when he noticed a vehicle following him very close so he moved to the side of the road to see if the vehicle would pass, but it didn`t.  The victim then continued on stopping in front of his home.

When he did stop, the suspect vehicle also stopped, and a male got out.  The suspect asked the victim where his son was, and he then made threats to kill the man and his son.  The suspect said he was a friend of a man who had previously been stabbed by the victims son.

The suspect then produced a 9 millimeter handgun and pointed it at the victim.   While the suspect was making threats, the victim’s wife walked out of the house and said she was calling the police.

The suspect got into his vehicle and fled the scene, but officers found him driving down the street a few blocks away.

The suspect, Steven Gutierrez (09/07/1983), was arrested for aggravated assault, and the gun was recovered.  The suspect was additionally charged with felony theft when it was determined that the gun was stolen.

The victim was not injured during the disturbance.

A 65 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after her purse was stolen while she was eating lunch at a restaurant located at 2211 Leopard Street.

The female victim told officers that she was sitting at a table outside with her 37 year old son with her purse on the table next to her.

She then saw a male suspect run by the table and grab her purse and continue running away.

Her son and another man began to chase the suspect while the victim called police.  While running the male suspect dropped the purse, and it was recovered by the victim’s son.

The other man was able to direct officers to where the suspect was hiding in some bushes near Nineteenth Street and Comanche Street.

A 16 year old male suspect was taken into custody for the theft and taken to the Nueces County Juvenile Justice Center.
