Patrol Report 06/29/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 804 calls for service and generated 189 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. June 28 to 7:00 a.m. on June 29, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.


“ADAM” District

Offense: Aggravated Assault

A 28 year old man was arrested after a Texas Parks and Wildlife Warden witnessed a road rage incident in the 12900 block Interstate 37 north.

The Game Warden told Corpus Christi Police that he saw a blue Ford F250 truck tailgating a white Chevrolet truck almost touching the rear bumper.  He then saw the blue truck hit the rear end of the white truck causing it to spin out of control and to hit the concrete median.

The driver of the blue truck attempted to leave the scene, but the Game Warden was able to stop the truck and detain the driver.

The 27 year old driver of the truck that hit the wall was transported to Northwest Hospital for minor injuries to his back.

The driver of the blue truck. Halen Lowman (07/03/1986), was arrested for aggravated assault with a motor vehicle, a second degree felony.

The victim told Officers that the aggressive driver had gotten upset when he entered the freeway from the on ramp and moved in front of him. The victim tapped his break twice to try and get the aggressive driver off his tail, but he said that the driver, instead, accelerated and hit him from the rear causing him to lose control.

A 34 year old man told Corpus Christi Police Officers that he was sitting inside his open garage when someone drove by and fired several shots at him.

The victim said he was sitting near his parked car when someone drove by his home located at 4017 Panama Drive and fired four to five shots at him.

The man was not injured but his vehicle had its rear window shot out, and the roof and eave of the garage were both struck by bullets.

No suspects have been identified in this case,   but the victim said he saw a silver four door passenger car travelling west on Panama Drive toward Weber Road after he heard the shots.

Corpus Christi Police were in the area of 4200 Townsend Street, investigating several calls for shots heard in the area, when they were flagged down by a man at the corner of Horne Road and Devon Drive who was detaining another man on the ground.

That 40 yea old man told Officers that he was at his home in the 4200 block of Townsend Street when he heard someone breaking into his vehicle.  He went out, armed with a handgun, to confront the suspect.

When the suspect started to run away, the man fired several shots into the air.  He then chased the man to the intersection where he caught up to the suspect and saw the officers.

Officers arrested the suspect, Jeremy Blanco (05/03/1991), for burglary.  They also took a report for discharging a firearm in the city against the 40 year old man who fired the shots.  He was not arrested, but Officers will investigate if any criminal charges need to be filed.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the 2100 block of South Staples Street after a vehicle struck a utility pole.

When Officers arrived at the crash they were told by witnesses that the driver of a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero  was attempting to turn from Baldwin Boulevard onto South Staples Street when the driver lost control of the car and it crashed into an AEP electric pole.

The witnesses then saw a male passenger get out of the vehicle with two backpacks and he went and hid them near a fence alongside a restaurant. Officers recovered the backpack that the passenger attempted to hide and inside they found six large bags of marijuana and a scale.

The driver, Seth Goff (10/20/1995), who was only slightly injured in the crash admitted that the backpack and the contents inside were his. After an investigation, Officers also determined that the driver had smoked marijuana, and took Xanax pills. He was charged with driving while intoxicated under the influence of drugs, and for possession of marijuana, a state jail felony. He was additionally charged with two outstanding warrants he had out for his arrest in connection to revoking his probation. Those warrants had been issued on June 5, 2015.

The 21 year old passenger told Officers that he was told to hide the backpacks by the driver.  He was identified by Officers and released.
