Patrol Report March 28, 2017

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Staples and Elizabeth in reference to a disturbance in progress. The call was updated stating a male and female were struggling beside a truck and a male was trying to put her in a vehicle and the female appeared to be trying to get away. The vehicle was last seen going towards Ocean Drive on Elizabeth. The description given was an older model grey truck with a blonde female wearing a yellow shirt. Officers went towards Ocean Drive in an effort to intercept the truck.

Officers located a truck matching the description provided traveling North on Ocean Dr. When the patrol unit was behind the suspect vehicle the officer noticed that the 28 year old female victim was trying to wave the officer down in order to get his attention. The officer conducted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of Ocean Drive. Immediately as the vehicle stopped, the female exited the vehicle in order to get away from the male suspect. The suspect attempted to exit the vehicle but was told to stay inside the truck to which he complied. The suspect was contacted and was observed to be sweaty and shaking. Officers detained the suspect while they conducted their investigation. The victim stated that the suspect (her boyfriend) picked her up from work. While they were driving home the suspect was on the phone yelling and cussing at someone. The victim stated she told the suspect she wanted out of the truck and no longer wanted to be his girlfriend due to his unstable behavior. The victim exited the truck and was confronted by the suspect who physically lifted her to force her in the truck. The victim tried to resist but could not get away from the suspect. She tried to put her feet against the door frame but was forced into the vehicle against her will. The suspect left the scene and the victim told the suspect she was going to jump out of the vehicle. The suspect stated that he was going to speed up to 100 miles per hour so she could no jump out. The victim stated that she attempted to flag down other people when she saw the officer and flagged him down. Officers contacted the witness who confirmed the victims story to the point she was forced into the truck. Officers arrested Ronnie Armstrong (05-31-1983) and transported him to the City Detention Center.

Offense: Assault Family Violence Choking

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Belmeade and Hugo Drive in reference to a assault in progress. Dispatchers updated the call and advised that the male was on top of the female hitting her. Another update came in that the male was chasing the female. Officers arrived and observed the 19 year old male suspect running. Officers gave several commands for the suspect to stop but he continued to run. Officers caught the suspect and took him into custody.

Officers contacted the 18 year old female victim who was crying and stated that the suspect (her boyfriend) choked her. Officers observed the victim to have injuries to her face, neck, arms and legs. The victim advised that they were at the suspects residence when the victim started getting text messages about going into work. The suspect became upset and took the victims phone accusing her of cheating on him. The victim stated that she told the suspect she began working at a local night club. The suspect became angry and started hitting the victim. They went outside where the suspect tackled the victim and he started to choke her. The victim did not lose consciousness but was having a hard time breathing. The victim tried to calm the suspect down and go to a park and talk but the suspect continued to assault her. The victim advised that everything happened so quickly she did know how many times she was struck. Officers contacted a witness who confirmed the victims story of the assaults that happened outside the residence. The victim was treated at the scene by CCFD medics. Officers arrested Nicholas Ray Brown (01-11-1998) and transported him to the City Detention Center.
