10.18.2011/5:56pm Aggravated Robbery 4908 Up River Rd. 1110180107
Officers were dispatched to 4908 Up River Rd., Lone Star Wrecker, for a disturbance with a customer. As officers were en route, the call was updated and the disturbance was now at 1100 Cantwell St.
When officers arrived on Cantwell, the owner of the wrecker service told police that Khalid Fawaz Alshammary (10-27-1987) had arrived at the yard to pick up his vehicle. The owner explained to Alshammary what he needed in order to get his vehicle returned. Alshammary acknowledged him and told him that he needed to get into his vehicle to retrieve the necessary paperwork.
That is when Alshammary got into his vehicle and attempted to drive it out of the yard without paying the fees that were owed. The wrecker yard attendant then stood in front of Alshammary’s vehicle and told him that he could not take the vehicle until the fees had been paid. Alshammary continued towards the wrecker attendant and struck him with the vehicle. The wrecker yard attendant, fearing he was about to be run over and having nowhere else to go, got onto the vehicle’s hood. Alshammary continued to drive his vehicle out of the wrecker yard and onto Up River Rd. and finally onto Cantwell St. Alshammary attempted to shake the victim off the vehicle on several occasions by steering erratically and braking hard but the wrecker yard attendant stayed on the vehicle. Alshammary finally stopped his vehicle, when another employee from the wrecker yard managed to get his vehicle in front of the Alshammary’s vehicle.
Alshammary was arrested and charged with Aggravated Robbery.
The victim sustained minor injuries, but declined medical treatment at the scene.
