Corpus Christi Hooks Raise Funds For Nueces County Fallen Heroes Memorial

The Corpus Christi Hooks played a baseball game on Thursday and provided financial support to the Nueces County Fallen Heroes Memorial. Five dollars of the ticket price was donated to the memorial when anyone purchased a ticket and mentioned the Fallen Heroes Memorial.

The Nueces County Fallen Heroes Memorial is a project that will be located at the Nueces County Courthouse and will take 6 months and $150,000 to complete. The project will be in memorial to first responders and is funded by private donations. The memorial will be on the Leopard side of the building and replace an unutilized water feature. The architecture firm of Turner and Ramirez are in charge of the project.

Corpus Christi Police Chief Floyd Simpson, Corpus Christi Fire Chief Robert Rocha and Hooks President Ken Schrum made the announcement May 16, 2012 at Whataburger Field.

Anyone interested to contribute a tax-deductible donation to the memorial may contact the Coastal Bend Community Foundation at 882-9745.
