A vehicle fled after it struck a 9-year-old boy Wednesday afternoon at Winnebago near Alameda. The child suffered non-life threatening but substantial injuries and was transported to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

A person saw the boy in the street and recognized the boy was obviously injured. The person stopped and called for help. The injuries were not consistent with simply falling off the bicycle.

Corpus Christi Police Crash Investigators started a search for a black male that drove a black sport utility vehicle with a broken head light that is believed to be involved in this crash.
