Woman Strikes Bus As Passengers Unloaded on McArdle Road

A 58-year-old woman crashed her green 2004 Nissan X-Terra into the back of a bus Wednesday afternoon at the 3600 block of McArdle Road near Carroll Lane.

A Regional Transit Authority bus stopped on McArdle Road and dropped off a passenger when the Nissan X-Terra struck the back of the bus. The 58-year-old woman said she saw the stopped bus, but her brakes did not work. The bus had 11 people on board and 3 were taken to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

The strait, level, dry road had no skid marks visible to investigating officers. The 58-year-old woman was not injured in the crash. The 58-year-old woman received a citation for Fail to Control Speed and her Nissan X-Terra was towed due to damage. The bus was able to be driven away.
