On July 31, 2013, Animal Control Officers received an animal cruelty call from a concerned citizen. When Animal Control Officers arrived at the home, they found an emaciated and weak Boxer chained to a broken trampoline.
“Nila” was surrendered to Animal Control after Cruelty concerns were expressed to her owner. Nila has been in the care of Animal Control for 4 weeks. In that time, she has gained weight, been vaccinated, and brought back to health. Shelter staff have gotten to know and love this spunky girl and say that she is a “good dog, very loving and friendly” says Erma Ybarra, ACO Bite Case Officer.
Corpus Christi Animal Control Services and People Assisting Animal Control volunteers reach out to rescues across Texas and strive to help animals like Nila find new homes. Boxer Rescue of Austin is driving to CCACS today to transport Nila back to Austin. She will be in their program until a new; forever home is located for her.
CCACS encourages citizens to contact Corpus Christi Animal Care Services at 361-826-2489 or use the online ASPCA cruelty form at; https://www.spca.org/sslpage.aspx?pid=297 if they suspect an animal is being abused.
