Offense: Driving While Intoxicated (P.C. 49.04 Class B Misdemeanor)

Corpus Christi Police responded to a fight in progress in front of a home in the 9500 block of Lovebird Street. Several witnesses told officers that they were having a party when Stephen Travis (05/21/1984) and a female got involved in an argument about him wanting to leave the party in his truck while he was intoxicated. The female took his car keys so that he couldn’t leave, but Mr. Travis ran home and got a spare set. He returned to the party and jumped into his truck and sped off. He didn’t make it far before he crashed into a parked car at the intersection of Lovebird Street and Waxwing Street. When the officers contacted Mr. Travis they found him to be intoxicated. After he was treated for some minor injuries, and a sample of his blood was obtained at the hospital, he was booked into the City Detention Center for Driving While Intoxicated.

Offense: Robbery (PC 29.02 Second Degree Felony)

An 85 year old male victim told police officers that his wallet and truck were stolen after he was attacked in the garage of his home in the 6100 block of Hidden Oakes Street. The victim said he remembers parking his truck and getting out at about 3 in the morning. As he walked out of the garage someone hit him. He woke up a few hours later after being knocked unconscious. The victim said that his truck and wallet were both missing and that he did not get a description of the suspect that assaulted him.

Location: 4000 South Padre Island Drive West at Weber Rd.
Offense: Driving While Intoxicated (P.C. 49.04 Class B Misdemeanor)

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a roll over crash and upon arrival they found a vehicle upside down with the driver pinned from the knees down underneath the car. Witnesses told officers that they saw the 2013 Volkswagon Passat traveling at a high rate of speed down the access road and just before the Weber Road intersection the vehicle left the roadway and struck the fixture base of a light pole. The vehicle then flipped on its top and slid down the road to a stop. Upon further investigation the officers found that the 27 year old driver was intoxicated. He was transported to the hospital for injuries he sustained in the crash. He refused to provide a specimen of his blood, so the officers applied for a blood search warrant that was then issued by a judge and a specimen was obtained. The driver was released at the hospital to be treated for his injuries. Once investigators obtain the results of the blood, an arrest warrant could be issued for the driver.

Offense: Burglary of Habitation (PC 30.02 First Degree Felony)

Corpus Christi Police Officers made contact with a female victim at a home in the 4500 block of Megal Drive who told them that she was asleep when she heard movement in the home from her bedroom. The victim walked into the kitchen area to look outside, but did not see anyone in the backyard. When the victim turned back around she was confronted by a male suspect, who grabbed her and shoved her head into the window. The victim suffered cuts to her face from the broken glass. The suspect ran out of the home using the back door and fled the area on foot. It is unknown how the suspect gained entry into the home. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, 5`6 to 5`8, 180-200 lbs. At the time of the attack he was wearing a long sleeve grey shirt, black jeans and was wearing a black thin mask under a ski mask to completely cover his face. The suspect faces burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony crimes, a first degree felony.

Offense: Criminal Trespass (P.C. 30.05 Class A Misdemeanor)

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call for a burglary in progress at a home in the 1500 block of Lazy Lane. A 53 year old female victim woke up when she heard someone inside her home trying to open her locked bedroom door. Officers arrived and found Tod McElduff (07/21/1984)asleep on the victims couch with only a shirt on. The intoxicated suspect explained that he was dropped off by his friends at the home on Lazy Lane where he was told by them that he was supposed to meet a girl. The suspect took off his pants in the front yard, wandered into the victim’s back yard and was able to get inside through the unlocked back door. Once inside the home, he tried to open the bedroom door, and then went to the living room, took off his boxers and went to sleep on the couch. When officers tried to arrest him, he resisted. Officers also found a pill in the pocket of the pants that were found in the front yard. The suspect was charged with criminal trespass in a habitation for entering the residence, resisting arrest for fighting with officers when they attempted to take him into custody and possession of a controlled substance for the pill found inside his pants pocket.
