Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a shooting call at a townhome located in the 13600 block of Teague Lane. Officers found a 38 year old female standing outside the front door of the townhome. She told them that her 41 year old husband entered the rear door of her townhome armed with a handgun, and shot the victim in the living room. Officers found a 44 year old male with a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital where he later died of his injuries. The female told officers that the suspect left out the rear door, and drove away in a blue suburban, possibly going back to his home on a ranch outside of Benavides, Texas. The female also told officers that her two children, a 16 year old female and an 11 year old male were also at the home in Benavides. Corpus Christi Police contacted the Duval County Sheriff’s Department and they responded to the home and secured the children. Officers there also located the suspect, and after a standoff with law enforcement officers from Duval County the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot.
