Update on Aggravated Assault at 1821 SPID

The victim, 63 year old John Harley, from the aggravated assault on February 15, 2017 at 1821 SPID has died from his injuries on February 18, 2017 at approximately 5:40pm. Detectives have upgraded the charge to murder.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 34 year old Anthony Richardson (10/29/1982)  after Detectives investigated an injury at Wal-Mart on South Padre Island Drive Wednesday night. Monday February 20, 2017, Detectives obtained a murder warrant and served the warrant to Mr.Richardson in the Nueces County Jail.

Corpus Christ Police Detectives need your help catching a couple of thieves that have been targeting the Home Depot on S.Port. The first happened on January 22, 2017. The suspect enters the store selecting items and placing them in a shopping cart inside two buckets. The suspect then pushes the cart to the outdoor exit and grabs the two buckets and leaves the store without paying.

The second event happened on February 15, 2017. This suspect has actually been seen several times going into the Home Depot and taking power equipment and leaving through the outdoor exit of the store. This time the suspect used a cart and loaded a chainsaw and went right by the employee making no effort to pay for the item.

Police Need Your Help Identifying this Armed Robber

Date: February 13 & 14, 2017

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help Identifying this suspect involved in two robberies. The first happened on February 13, 2017 at 11:52 am at 2100 Baldwin at the Metro PCS . The suspect is seen entering the store pulling a knife and going straight to the employee. The suspect takes the money from the cash register and leaves the store.

On February 14, 2017 at 4:52 pm the same suspect robbed the Stripes at 13400 Leopard. The suspect waits in line until it is his turn at the register. The suspect then displays a knife and forces the employee to open the register. The suspect takes the money from the drawer and then leaves the store.

In each of the robberies the suspect appears to wearing the same type of clothing and is also wearing glasses.

Police Arrest Man For Aggravated Assault On SPID

Corpus Christi Police arrested 34 year old Anthony Richardson (10/29/1982) for Aggravated Assault after Detectives investigated an injury at a store on South Padre Island Drive Wednesday night.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call of an injured person at a store located at 1821 South Padre Island Drive at 10:15pm Wednesday night. Officers learned that a 63 year old man hired as a contract worker to paint in the store was injured. The 63 year old man was taken to the hospital by ambulance for treatment of head trauma. The Officers conducted an investigation into the injury as an accident until they discovered evidence to lead them to believe the injury was actually the result of an assault.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives responded to the scene and discovered evidence of a confrontation between the injured 63 year old man and another contract employee. Detectives believe the contractors are not employees of the store, but hired to do reconstruction work in the store. Detectives interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence which prompted Detectives to identify this event as a criminal action. Detectives arrested Anthony Richardson (10/29/1982) for Aggravated Assault and delivered Richardson to the city detention center. The charge is a 2nd degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

Shooting Leads to Citys Latest Homicide

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a shooting at 2630 Waldron Rd. Upon arrival officers located a 17 year old male victim with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso. Officers started administered first aid until the medics arrived and transported the victim to the hospital. The victim (Timothy Echols Jr.) died from his injuries at the hospital.

Officers investigated and the preliminary information is that the suspect described as a thin black male wearing glasses came to the apartment. The suspect and the victim engaged in a conversation that escalated. At some point the suspect shot the victim in the upper torso and fled the scene in a white vehicle. Officers separated the witnesses and transported them to the police station to be interviewed. Detectives arrived and began their investigation. Detectives were able to gather enough information and are looking for a person of interest in this case. This is still an ongoing investigation and information is still being gathered.

Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to 4102 Baldwin at Kleberg Bank in reference to a robbery involving a weapon. Officers arrived and contained the scene. Witnesses advised that a black male wearing a red shirt came in and asked to use the phones and the restroom. The suspect approached a teller and passed a note and gestured as if he had a gun. The suspect exited the bank and left towards Agnes and Airport. Detectives arrived on the scene and interviewed the witnesses.

Information was put out and an officer stated that the suspect description matched a suspect that tried to pass a bad check earlier in the area of 3700 Leopard. That suspect was wearing a red shirt and driving a black Jeep Cherokee which had old damage to the right front quarter panel. Officers searched the area and located the vehicle a local hotel in the 5300 block of Leopard. The vehicle was still warm and a witness advised they saw a subject matching the description leave the vehicle. Officers secured the area and began a search. Officers located the suspect and a couple other people in one of the rooms. A consent to search was obtained and offices located the money and the suspects clothing. Officers arrested Roy Robertson (04/20/1982) for Aggravated Robbery and Terrance D. Hensley (01/03/1984) for failure to identify as a fugitive and a active parole violation warrant for robbery. Both suspects were taken to the main police station to be interviewed and then transported to the City Detention Center.

Police Arrest 22 Year Old Man for Murder

Corpus Christi Police arrested 22-year-old Andrew Powell (2/2/1995) Friday at a home on the 2100 block of Peabody for murder.

Detectives investigated an aggravated assault of a 47-year-old man at the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard Wednesday, but the 47-year-old man did not survive the stab wounds suffered in the attack. Detectives identified Powell as responsible for the stabbing and obtained a warrant to arrest Powell for murder. Corpus Christi Police Officers found Powell at a home on the 2100 block of Peabody Friday afternoon and arrested Powell for the warrant for murder. Detectives interviewed Powell and then delivered him to the city detention center. A 16-year-old girl was also apprehended at the same place and time as Powell, but the girl had a Directive to Apprehend for an unrelated offense, then delivered to the Nueces County Juvenile Detention Center.

Officers located the crime scene near a tree behind the old police station. Officers contacted a witness who heard a argument between the victim and another person. At some point the victim was stabbed. The last update we had on the victim was that he had surgery and was in critical condition.There is not much more information available at this time.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a shooting in the 700 block of North Port. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim who was bleeding from his face and had blood all over his clothing. Officers believe that the victim had been shot. Officers asked the 35 year old male victim what happened but were unable to get any useful information. CCFD Medics arrived and transported the victim to Spohn Memorial Hospital for treatment. Offices checked the area and found blood in the parking lot of the hotel. Officers contacted some of the guests of the hotel but they were not able to provide any information to assist in the investigation. Officers have few leads in this case.

Help Identify This Woman

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this woman who damaged a vehicle. The female in the video went up to the residence and began banging on the front door and yelling. The female is seen going up to a black Ford Mustang and started scratching the paint on the left side of the vehicle, the trunk and the hood. The suspect then left the scene.
