Patrol Report August 26, 2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 191 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight August 25 to 7:00 a.m. on August 26, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Bravo” District

Location: 9500 South Padre Island Drive West Access
Offense:  Possession of Dangerous Drugs   (HS 483.041    Class A Misdemeanor)

Case Number: 1408260011
Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to 9512 S. Padre Island Dr. the Car Wash Company for a male passed out in his vehicle in one of the stalls.  Officers found Mark Towler (02/10/1982) sitting in his 1999 Mazda Miata with the windows open and sweating profusely. CCFD EMS responded to check out the male, and when he stepped out of the car several blue tablets fell to the ground from his lap.  The male did not have anything to indicate that he was the recipient of a prescription for the medication and he was arrested for possession of dangerous drugs, a Class A misdemeanor and his car was impounded.

Offense:  Evading Arrest     (PC 38.04       Class A Misdemeanor)

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol was making contact with Robert Hankins (11/27/1968) who was at a motel on North Beach. When the officer asked the suspect for his name, the man gave his name and stated “I have a warrant…Later.” Then the suspect began running from the officer toward Surfside Blvd.  After a short foot pursuit, the man was arrested for evading arrest on foot, a Class A misdemeanor and he was also found to have an outstanding warrant for arrest from San Patricio County for probation violation.

Offense:  Robbery     (PC 29.02       Second Degree Felony)

A 53 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he said he was robbed by a female suspect who assaulted him and took his wallet.  He told officers he was speaking to a female when he was jumped by an unknown male from behind.  The victim fell to the ground striking his head and he sustained minor cuts.  While on the ground the female then punched him in the nose and stole $20.00 out of his wallet. The victim said he hit the female with a trash can before she got away. The victim could not provide officers with a description of either the male or the female involved.  He was transported to Spohn Shoreline Hospital for medical treatment.

Location: 2800 Morris Street
Offense: Aggravated Assault           (PC 22.02       First Degree Felony)

Case Number: 1408250137
A 28 year old female victim was stabbed several times after a fight with her boyfriend at a home in the 2800 block of Morris St.  Officers arrived after the victim’s mother went to check on her and found her boyfriend assaulting her.  Officers arrived and found blood in the living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. The victim was found in the bedroom with several lacerations on her head, fingers, hands, arms, abdominal sides, and knees. The victim’s eyes and lips were swollen, and her right eye was black and purple in color. Stab wounds to the victim’s knees appeared to be the most severe injuries.  The victim was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital for treatment.  Officers were unable to find the suspect.
