Patrol Report October 7, 2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 201 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight October 6 to 7:00 a.m. on October 7, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Offense: Burglary                 (PC 30.02   State Jail Felony)
Case Number: 1410060042
Corpus Christi Police are investigating a burglary to the Bill Bode County Building located at 11408 Leopard St. Office workers arrived to find several doors that had been pried open and office desks ransacked. A safe was removed from a locked closet and taken to another office and pried open. It appears as though suspects made entry into the build through the front door.  At this time officers are still investigating this case and no suspects have been arrested.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating at least three incidents where vehicles were left without tires and rims. The first incident was reported from a resident in the 8200 block of Midwest Circle. He walked out of his home to find his 2015 Cadillac Escalade that was parked in his driveway, up on blocks and all four tires and rims missing. About a block away, another man also found his 2014 Cadillac Escalade up on blocks when he came outside to leave for work in the 8200 block of Radial Ct.  His vehicle was parked in front of his home, on the street when all four of his tires and rims were stolen.  In the third incident, a security guard at an auto dealership located at 3000 South Padre Island Dr. found a 2015 Nissan Altima with three of its four tires and rims missing.  The brand new vehicle was parked on the west side of the dealership lot when the theft occurred.  Officers were able to collect a tool that suspects left behind at this scene, and are hoping this evidence may assist them in this investigation.  Each tire and rim in all of these thefts are valued at almost $1000.

A 51 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was assaulted by a friend. The victim told officers that he and a friend were at the victims’ home located in the 5800 block of Hall Ave. when the victim agreed to give the male a ride to his home located in the 3600 block of Eastern St. When they arrived, the male asked the victim for some money which he refused to give him. The male got angry and began to punch the victim in the face with his fist several times. The male then took the victims’ wallet and his cell phone.  The victim had a cut on his forehead and swelling on the right side of his face.  CCFD EMS responded to the scene to treat the victim, however, he refused to be transported to the hospital.  Officers attempted to locate the suspect who had assaulted the victim however, they were unable to locate him.  This case is still under investigation and no arrests have been made.

A 22 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after three males, one being the victim’s brother in law, began throwing bricks at him. The victim and his wife had just arrived at her mother’s home located in the 3700 block of Betel St. and were arguing.  The two were outside when the victim’s brother in law and some of his friends got involved in the disturbance taking his sisters side.  One of the three threw a brick at the victim and he was able to knock the brick away with his hand, but when he did it cut his hand.  The victim had to be transported to the hospital for his injuries by CCFD EMS. The brother in law and his friends left the scene prior to police arrival. No arrests have been made in this case.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to the 3800 block of Seagull Blvd. for a report of an aggravated robbery. Officers arrived and found several people outside of a motel room and one suspect attempting to leave on a motorcycle.  It was determined that three males kicked in the door of a room that was occupied by a 56 year old male and a 35 year old female and displayed a gun. They ransacked the motel room looking for a purse that they believed the female occupant had stolen earlier from one of the suspect’s sisters. While inside the room, the suspects stole a cell phone belonging to the victim.  The male suspect with the gun fled prior to police arrival in a suburban.  Another suspect, Bobby McColister (05/20/1970), attempted to flee on a motorcycle but was apprehended by responding officers.  The third suspect, Jerry Dobbs (07/18/1966) was still in front of the motel when officers arrived and he also was arrested.  Both suspects were charged with aggravated robbery, a first degree felony.  Officers are attempting to identify the suspect that fled in the suburban with the stolen cell phone. Neither victim reported any injuries during the robbery.
