Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a stabbing at a home located in the 1100 block of Barton St. A 42 year old male victim told officers that he was upset with another man for shining a flashlight in his face. The victim said that the man then stabbed his truck tire causing it to go flat. After this occurred the victim confronted the man and a fight ensued in the grass near the street. During the fight the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim once in his left leg. The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Medical Center by CCFD EMS. Officers were able to recover the knife, and arrested Joshua Chambless (10/19/1983), for aggravated assault, a second degree felony.

Offense: Injury to an Elderly Peron (PC 22.04 Third Degree Felony)

A 66 year old female victim contacted Corpus Christi Police after she was assaulted by her 18 year old grandson. The victim told officers that she had gone to her bedroom to go to sleep and locked the deadbolt on her door. A couple of hours later she heard a loud noise and observed someone forcing her bedroom door open. Her grandson then said he wanted to get a cell phone that was in the room and he forced his way in. The female who had the phone said that her grandson assaulted her while attempting to get the phone from her. She said he hit her in the upper rib area where she recently had surgery. CCFD EMS responded to the scene however, the female refused to be taken to the hospital. She did tell officers that she was pushed on two separate occasions earlier in the day by her grandson. Officers did observe a damaged deadbolt lock on the door and they arrested Jarrett McClain (01/23/1996) who was still at the scene.

Offense: Aggravated Assault (PC 22.02 Second Degree Felony)

Corpus Christi Police responded to a disturbance with a weapon at a home located in the 4600 block of Wales St. Officers arrived and contacted two females who said they were in the home watching a movie when a male who also lived in the home arrived and began to argue with one of the females about money. When the other female tried to intervene the male got mad at her and began making threats to both females. Both females then attempted to leave the home and the suspect went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. One of the females was able to make it outside and call police. After calling for help, the female reentered the home to try and get her friend out when the male threw the kitchen knife at her, stabbing her in the right leg. The other female was then grabbed by the male and thrown to the ground. The male continued to assault both females until police arrived and he was taken into custody. Officers arrested Justin Ballesteros (12/13/1983) for aggravated assault, a second degree felony for stabbing the one female victim. He was additionally charged with assault, a Class A misdemeanor for hitting the other female.

Corpus Christi Police Chief Floyd Simpson was driving north on US Highway 181 on the Harbor Bridge when he observed a 2012 maroon GMC Acadia swerving and unable to maintain travel in a single lane. Chief Simpson followed the vehicle as it exited the highway and saw the vehicle drive the wrong way on the access road. The vehicle then pulled into a convenience store located at 502 Burleson St. and the chief was able to detain the female driver. Other officers responded to assist and after an investigation they determined that the driver Rosella Johnson (02/15/1971) was intoxicated and she was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor, and her vehicle was impounded.
