Patrol Report October 10, 2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 218 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight October 9 to 7:00 a.m. on October 10, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Charlie” District

Location: 4700 Wynona Drive
Offense: Aggravated Assault                       (PC 22.02 Second Degree Felony)
Case Number: 1410090075
A 33 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police Officers after she was stabbed following an argument over a curling iron at her home in the 4700 block of Wynona Drive. The victim told officers that another female she only knows as “Michelle” came to her door stating “Give me back my curling iron” before she punched the victim and a fight broke out. The victim stated as they fought the suspect pulled out a pocket knife and proceeded to stab the victim in the face under the right eye, her hand, and in the chest. The victim stated she was able to grab the knife out of the suspects hand and the suspect then ran back to her vehicle and jumped into the passenger seat. The suspect vehicle was driven away by a male named “Joey.” CCFD EMS treated the victim at the scene and she refused to be transported to the hospital. Officers are still investigating this case, and no one has been arrested.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated                         (PC49.04 Class B Misdemeanor)

A man trying to exit out of a parking lot in his 2003 Chrysler Sebring of a bar located at 5862 Everhart Rd. struck a Corpus Christi Police patrol unit that was also leaving the parking lot. Both vehicles only had minor damage, however upon investigation it was determined that the driver of the Chrysler was intoxicated.  Officers arrested Carlos Hernandez (08/03/1988) and after impounding his vehicle officers found marijuana in the glove box of his car.  He was additionally charged with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

A 25 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after two of her ex-boyfriends were involved in a disturbance that resulted in one of them being shot. Officers responded to the home located in the 2300 block of Prescott St. and were told by the female that she was being dropped off at her home by Ricardo Banuelos (10/31/1974) after they had gone out together. While she was getting out of the car she saw another ex-boyfriend approach them with a hammer in his hand. The male hit the windshield of the car with the hammer causing it to shatter. Mr. Banuelos drove off only to return a short time later.  When he arrived back, he got out of his car and told the man that he better not hit his car again. The male hit the windshield a second time and Mr. Banuelos pulled out a handgun.  The man then ran off into the back yard, and Mr.  Banuelos followed.  During the disturbance in the back yard the male was shot once in his leg. Following the shooting Mr. Banuelos fled the scene in his vehicle, but was later located by officers at a home in the 1400 block of 15th St.  Mr. Banuelos was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault, a second degree felony and he also had an outstanding arrest warrant for a parole violation on an original charge of robbery.  The victim that was shot was taken to Spohn MCC by CCFD EMS to be treated for his injuries.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated                         (PC49.04 Class B Misdemeanor)

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to a business located at 121 N. Shoreline Blvd. after a male that was in the drive thru lanes behind the wheel of a 2013 Ford F150 truck was seen throwing up and urinating in the bushes next to the drive thru lanes of the business. When officers arrived he was back in his truck and sitting in line with other vehicles.  Officers contacted the driver, Andrey Guajardo (06/29/1982) and after an investigation they determined that he was intoxicated. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a Class B misdemeanor, and his truck was impounded.
