Patrol Report October 21, 2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 204 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight October 20 to 7:00 a.m. on October 21, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Offense: Resisting Arrest
(PC 38.03              Class A Misdemeanor)
Case Number: 1410200148
Corpus Christi Police responded to the Wal-Mart Store located at 3829 Highway 77 to assist store employees regarding a theft. When they arrived officers saw Melissa Gutierrez (08/22/1971) struggling with a loss prevention employee in the parking lot. Store employees had seen the female putting items in her purse and then leave the store without paying. When officers approached, the female broke off the struggle with the employee and took off running through the parking lot. Officers were able to catch up with the female and she began to resist. After a short struggle she was arrested, and charged with theft, a Class B misdemeanor, evading arrest on foot and resisting arrest both Class A misdemeanors.

Corpus Christi Police were called by mall security regarding two females that were intoxicated standing outside of a bar. Logan Ross (05/04/1995) and Heather Forsythe (05/12/1995) were arrested for public intoxication. While they were in the back seat of the police unit, Ms. Forsythe began to assault Ms. Ross. Officers observed the one female kicking the other. The two females were separated, and a check revealed that Ms. Forsythe had an outstanding felony warrant for DWI with a child passenger. She was also found to be in possession of pills without a prescription, and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. Ms. Forsythe was also charged with assaulting the other female while in the police unit, a Class A misdemeanor. Ms. Ross was charged with public intoxication, a Class A misdemeanor.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated
(PC 49.04 Class B Misdemeanor)

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash at Carroll Lane and Tiger Lane and found that a 1999 Chevrolet Blazer SUV had run a stop sign, went across the roadway and struck a 2012 Volkswagon sedan that was at the stop sign across the intersection. After an investigation, Luis Chapa (09/28/1989), the driver of the Blazer, was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for DWI. During a search officers found several pills in his right front pant pocket and he was additionally charged with possession of dangerous drugs, a Class A misdemeanor. The 24 year old female driver of the VW was not injured, but both vehicles had to be towed due to the damage.
