Patrol Report 12/12/2014

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 220 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight December 11 to 7:00 a.m. on December 12, 2014. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Adam” District

Corpus Christi Police responded to call from AEP Security that advised that they were monitoring live video surveillance at one of their power plants located at 3645 Callicoate Road and saw a male on the site.

Officers responded to the Hill Power Plant and stayed in contact with AEP and were able to locate Antonio Gutierrez (04/24/1978), who was wearing a black ski mask to cover his face, hiding on the property.

Further investigation showed that the suspect made entry onto the property near the front gate by cutting a hole in the fence.   Once on the property he removed nearly $2000 worth of metal and did several hundreds of dollars’ worth of property damage.

The suspect was charged with felony theft, and criminal mischief, a Class B misdemeanor, and also criminal trespass, a Class A misdemeanor.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a shooting at a home in the 1800 block of Promise Lane.

The investigation revealed that a 24 year old man went to his ex-wife’s house to confront her about knocking over his motorcycle earlier in the evening at a night club.

When he arrived at the home, his ex-wife was not there, but her 26 year old new boyfriend was home.  A fight broke out between the two men, and sometime during the altercation, the boyfriend felt scared for his safety and retrieved a .45 caliber handgun and shot the ex-husband in the left leg above the knee.

The ex-husband was transported to the hospital for his injuries, that are thought to be non-life threatening.

At this time this case is still under investigation, and no arrest have been made.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a burglary at the Auto Nation Ford Dealership located at 6250 S. Padre Island Drive.

The security guard told officers that he observed two vehicles on blocks near the rear of the property. He then saw a male wearing a black sweatshirt start running from the property.

Officers located a 2011 Ford Mustang and a new 2015 Ford F-150 truck up on blocks and both missing all four tires.  Combined value of all tires and rims that were stolen was estimated to be about $2400.

This case is still under investigation and no arrests have been made.

A business owner contacted Corpus Christi Police after he found two of his business vehicles and four customer vehicles had been broken into while parked on his property located at 6261 S. Padre Island Drive.

The business owner said he had video surveillance of a suspect on his property for nearly an hour from 2:20 AM until 3:30 AM. The suspect entered several of the vehicles by smashing out the side windows and some were broken into by prying the door handles.

Owners of the vehicles are still looking into what items were taken from their vehicles.

This case is still under investigation, and no suspects have been arrested.
