A 19 year old mother called Corpus Christi Police after she found her 3 year old daughter had been beaten by her boyfriend who had been watching the child earlier in the day.
Officers arrived and found the child covered from head to toe in bruises and abrasions. She also had dried blood on her nose and on her body. It appears that the child had been struck with hands and other objects due to the marks on her body.
The mother told officers that she had left her daughter with her boyfriend, Julian Lopez (04/01/1992), while she went to work. When she got home later in the evening, the boyfriend was home, but he left suddenly. The mother found her child with the injuries and she took her to her parents’ house and called police.
Officers contacted CCFD EMS and had the child transported from there to Driscoll Children`s hospital for treatment. The injuries appear to be serious, but not life threatening. The child has been released from the hospital and placed into the custody of family members.
Corpus Christi Police Detectives have secured a warrant for the arrests of the suspect. He is described as being 5’6” tall, weighing 160 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. The arrest warrant is for injury to a child, a first degree felony, and has a $250,00 bond amount.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a motel located at 5423 Leopard Street after the manager called in about people staying in a room that was not rented out.
Officers arrived and found the door of the room had been forced open and located Samantha Nava (08/18/1990) and Israel Gonzalez (02/20/1988) inside.
Both were arrested for Criminal Trespass, a Class B misdemeanor.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

A 58 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after her neighbor backed into her fence.
Officers arrived and the female directed them to the damaged fence, and then pointed out the neighbor who had hit the fence with her car. Officers walked across the street and found the female suspect still trying to get into her house. She was observed by the officers swaying side to side and unable to get the key into the lock of an outer gate to the front door to unlock it.
After an investigation it was determined that the suspect had backed her 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt into the fence causing about $500 in damage then parked in her driveway.
The female, Rosario Torres (06/09/1958), was found to be intoxicated and she was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a third degree felony. It was also determined that the suspect also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for a prior DWI arrest.

A 64 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was stabbed by another man while waiting on a bus in the 2700 block of Morgan Avenue.
A witness told officers that she was waiting for a city bus along with some other people who she did not know. She said that the victim walked up and started causing a disturbance by confronting them and using abusive language.
Another male waiting for the bus became upset with what the victim was saying and got confrontational with him. The male then punched the victim. The witness said the confrontation happened very fast and then the victim began bleeding from his left shoulder. It was later discovered that the victim had been stabbed in the shoulder.
The victim was transported by CCFD EMS for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. The suspect took off running west on Morgan Avenue. He is described as a Hispanic male, about 5`5″ tall last seen wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. He was not located and officers continue to investigate this case.
