A 26 year old male victim trying to sell a PlayStation to a man he found on Craigslist had his property stolen instead.

The victim called Corpus Christi Police to his apartment complex located at 5757 South Staples Street and told officers he was attempting to sell a new PlayStation 4 on Craigslist when someone sent him a text message stating that they were interested in buying it.

The victim texted back his address as a meeting spot to sell the property and a Hispanic male, in his middle twenties, with a shaved head wearing dark colored jeans, a white shirt, and carrying a dark colored jacket with a stripe on the sleeve showed up just after 9 PM.

After agreeing on a price, the suspect said he needed to go get the money and when he returned, instead of paying, the suspect attempted to grab the gaming system and run. A struggle ensued and both men fell into a neighbor’s glass window.

During the struggle over the property, the suspect said he had a gun, and threatened to shoot the victim.  The suspect fled on foot getting away from the victim because he did not have shoes on, and he cut his foot on the broken glass.

Officers did not find the suspect or the PlayStation, and police continue to investigate this crime.
