During the holiday season many people find themselves either giving or receiving gifts, and often these gifts include televisions, gaming consoles, laptops or other large items.

These gifts often come with large cardboard boxes and when left curbside for trash pickup, it can let a lurking person know what’s inside your house.

The Corpus Christi Police Department and the City of Corpus Christi Solid Waste Services wants to remind citizens to take the large boxes to one of the recycle drop off points located throughout our city. We want to encourage members of the community to use these drop off locations as an alternative to leaving the cardboard boxes curbside.

The locations of the drop off points are as follows:

J.C. Elliott Transfer Station
7001 Ayers Street

H-E-B Parking Lot
Leopard Street and Violet Road

H-E-B Parking Lot
Alameda Street and Glazebrook Street

Fellowship of Oso Creek Church
7402 Yorktown Boulevard

 

Hours at these locations are

8 AM to 5 PM
both Friday, December 26 and Saturday, December 27.
