Patrol Report 01/05/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 134 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight January 4 to 7:00 a.m. on January 5, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Adam” District

Offense: Aggravated Robbery

A 27 year old store clerk called Corpus Christi Police after a man armed with a knife came in and robbed the business located at 5626 Leopard St.

The employee told officers that a tall, slender, young black male wearing a black ski mask entered the store holding a folding knife in his right hand.  The suspect threatened the employee with the knife and told him to open the cash register and give him the money.  The suspect got some cash from the register and then exited the store through front doors.

The suspect was last seen wearing a white long sleeve shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.

Officers are working with the store manager in an attempt to get a copy of the store video surveillance system.

At this time no suspect has been arrested.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash in the 5200 block of Fulwell Drive and found the wrecked car, but the driver had fled the scene.

Officers located a 2008 Nissan Altima sedan that had crashed into a tree in front of a home located at 5209 Fulwell Dr.  The investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling west on Fulwell Dr. and failed to notice a turn in the road.  The vehicle left the roadway and struck the tree.

The driver fled the scene prior to police arrival.  The suspect vehicle was impounded and Corpus Christi Police Traffic Investigators will be looking into this case to try and determine who was driving.

The driver faces charges for leaving the scene, and could also be issued traffic citations related to the crash.

A 67 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he caught another male in his truck.

The suspect had already removed the radio and had somehow started the 1992 Ford F150 truck when the victim confronted him.

The suspect exited the vehicle and took off walking down Winnebago St. towards N. Port Ave. The victim was walking behind the suspect until he turned around and told him that he had a gun and he would kill him if he kept following him.

Responding officers found the suspect hiding in an abandoned motor home on a property in the 1500 block of Lexington St. and they were able to recover the stolen property also hidden nearby.

Because the suspect made a verbal threat to use deadly force in the commission of a theft, Maury Robinson (04/14/1983), was booked at the City Detention Center on charges of aggravated robbery, a first degree felony.

A 75 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she came out of a store and found two tires on her car had been slashed.

Officers responded to the parking lot of a business located at 817 S. Port Avenue and found a 2002 Toyota sedan with two passenger side tires flat.  Each tire had a single puncture hole in them.

Upon investigation officers found two other cars in the same area that also had tires punctured on them.  A total of 5 tires were destroyed on three separate cars with a total damage amount of over $500 were reported.

Officers are still investigating this case, and no suspects have been arrested.
