Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about a theft that had occurred at the Dillards Store located at La Palmera Mall.
Officers arrived and were told by store employees that they saw a male suspect make several selections of shirts and blue jeans from the shelves and then walk into the fitting room. When the suspect entered the fitting room, he had a shopping bag with him containing two large shoe boxes. When he exited he still had the bag of boxes, but not the clothing he had walked in with.
The suspect was stopped outside the store and over $1300 worth of stolen clothing was found in the boxes inside the shopping bag.
Matthew Pena (10/27/1993) was arrested for a Class A misdemeanor theft charge since the items were valued at over $500.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about a theft in progress at the HEB Store located at 3033 S. Port Avenue.
When officers arrived they were directed to a male that had fled on foot behind the store. Officers were able to locate Raul Perez (04/16/1973) and after a brief foot pursuit, and a physical struggle, they were able to take the offender into custody.
Inside the suspect’s backpack, officers found shrimp and lobster tails that he had stolen from the store.
The suspect was arrested for a Class B misdemeanor theft charge since the food was valued over $50, and he was also charged with evading arrest and resisting arrest, both of those charges are Class A misdemeanors.

A 25 year old male called Corpus Christi Police from the emergency room of Spohn Shoreline Hospital after he was robbed and assaulted while walking in the 1000 block of S. Alameda Street.
The victim told officers that three male suspects jumped out of a black four door car that was very low to the ground and demanded his money. The victim pulled out some money and handed it to one of the suspects. He was then struck over the head with an unknown object.
The victim was able to get a description of one of the suspects. He was described as being a white male, having a thin build, about 5’05” tall with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a black shirt and dark jeans.
The victim had a severe cut to his head that required several stiches.
Officers continue to investigate this case, and no suspects have been located.
