The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 143 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight January 11 to 7:00 a.m. on January 12, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.


“Bravo” District

Offense: Possession of Controlled Substance

A 34 year old male home owner called Corpus Christi Police after another man driving a vehicle crashed into his fence and then fled on foot.

The crash investigation revealed that, Justin Briseno (09/30/1987), was driving a 2011 Chevrolet SUV east on Jacquelyn Drive and was attempting to turn onto Sam Street when he lost control and struck a wooden fence.

The home owner confronted the suspect, and he fled on foot.  The home owner chased him to the 700 block of Everhart Road, and detained him until police arrived.

Once officers arrived, they took the suspect driver into custody.  In his possession they found 33 hydrocodone pills.  He was also determined to be intoxicated on alcohol and he also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest for parole violation for a burglary charge.

The suspect was treated at the hospital for minor injuries he suffered during the crash, and then transported to the city detention center.

The home owner estimated that the suspect did nearly $1000 in damage to his fence.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a shooting at a home located in the 1600 block of Sherman Street.

A Chevrolet Impala was seen leaving the home and officers stopped it at the corner of Horne Road and Prescott Street. A 28 year old female in the front passenger seat was found to be shot in the right leg. The driver of the Chevrolet, Joe Parker (03/15/1987), was taken back to the home on Sherman Street.  There officers found several bullet casings in front of the home.

The female and the male both had conflicting stories about when and where the shooting had occurred. When officers went to check the welfare of the people inside the home on Sherman Street, they found cocaine inside.

A search warrant was issued for the residence and while searching a bedroom officers found four different handguns, one of them stolen, scales, drug paraphernalia and more cocaine inside a backpack.

The male was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a third degree felony and theft of a firearm, a state jail felony for having in his possession a stolen firearm. He was additionally charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, a second degree felony for the cocaine located in his residence that was consistent with the sale of the drug.

While being treated at Spohn MMC for her gunshot wound, the female was found to have heroin in her possession. She was not arrested due to her injuries, however, charges are expected to be filed and she could be arrested after she is released from the hospital.

Officers continue to investigate this incident, however at this time, no one has been arrested regarding the shooting that occurred.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a roll over crash on the freeway that left a 21 year old female with a broken leg and another female in jail.

The crash investigation revealed that a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV was travelling east in the middle lane when it was struck by a 2009 Dodge sedan that had swerved into its lane from the right lane. The crash forced the Tahoe to spin out of control and it flipped onto its roof, ejecting the female passenger.

After an investigation, the driver of the Dodge, Delia Madrigal (10/25/1965) was found to be intoxicated. Since the female passenger in the Tahoe suffered a serious bodily injury, and the suspect was determined to be intoxicated, she was charged with intoxicated assault, a felony.

The female passenger was taken to Spohn MMC to be treated for her broken leg.

The 23 year old male driver of the Tahoe was not injured.


“Delta” District

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call about a female who had been struck by a car in the 2300 block of Cleo Street.

Officers arrived and found that a 54 year old female victim had been intentionally run over by her son who was driving a green Ford Ranger truck with an Indiana license plate.

Witnesses told officers that they saw the truck stop in the middle of the street and the male driver exit the truck and then try and pull the female passenger, who was still wearing her seatbelt, out of the truck.   Once the female fell out, the male got back in the truck and drove off, running over his mother who was in the street.

The victim told officers that she knows her son is not in his right mind because he is hooked on drugs.

The victim remained in the hospital to be treated for her injuries that are serious, but not believed to be life threatening.

Officers are still investigating this case, and no arrests have been made.
