Patrol Report 01/14/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 141  reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight January 13 to 7:00 a.m. on January 14, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“Bravo” District

Location: 900 Dorothy Drive
Offense: Burglary P.C. 30.02       (Second Degree Felony)
Case Number: 1501130025
Corpus Christi Police caught a burglar trying to make his escape on a bicycle from a home he had broken into in the 900 block of Dorothy Drive.

Officers were in the area investigating a call about a burglary when one of the responding officers saw a male riding a bicycle.  When the officer stopped the male on the bike, he saw what turned out to be stolen watches sticking out of the suspect’s pants pocket.

Officers were able to locate the exact home that the suspect had entered through a back bedroom window.

After they confirmed with the 33 year old male homeowner that the watches belonged to him, officers arrested the suspect, Christopher Kirkpatrick (11/21/1990), for burglary.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the Subway Sandwich Shop located at 5441 Everhart Road for a robbery.

Restaurant employees told officers that a young Hispanic male came in and asked for a cookie and then told them to give him the money. The suspect made a motion towards his front right pocket suggesting that he had a weapon in his pocket while making the threats.

No weapon was displayed, but the suspect, described as  5’4″ tall 120 pounds took over $300 in cash and fled on foot.

No one in the restaurant was injured.

Officers continue to investigate this crime and no arrests have been made.

A 36 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police after she was assaulted and threatened with a knife by her boyfriend.

The victim told officers that her boyfriend became very irate after a verbal disturbance and went and grabbed a large steak knife and held it up close to her face. The suspect then began punching her in the face with his right hand and then pressed the knife to her neck with his left.  The male also told the victim that  he was going to kill her if she did not shut up. The victim told officers that she was punched at least 20 times.

After the assault, the suspect fled the female’s home.  Officers were able to catch up to him later at his home in the 1200 block of Barton Street.

Joseph Murillo (01/02/1977) was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, a first degree felony.

The female had a large scratch to the left side of her face near her ear but she refused medical treatment.
