Officers caught up with them in the 3600 block of South Saxet Street and took a 16 year old female into custody. When they went to arrest the male, he physically resisted arrested and fled on foot.
While running from officers, the male suspect stopped and stole a bicycle from the front yard of a home. He attempted to flee on the bike, but officers were able to catch up to him and take him into custody.
After an investigation it was determined that the male and female had kicked in the back door of a home in the 3600 block of Victory Street and took four televisions and other property and put all of the stolen goods in the two trash cans that belonged to the home owner.
The male suspect, Alberto Garza (12/13/1991), was charged with burglary, resisting arrest, and evading police on foot. He was additionally charged with theft, a Class B misdemeanor, because he stole the bicycle when he was attempting to elude officers.
The female was transported to the Juvenile Justice Center.
