Patrol Report 05/14/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department generated 239 reports for formal criminal complaints from midnight May 13 to 7:00 a.m. on May 14, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.


“BRAVO” District

Location: 5700 South Staples Street
Offense: Attempted Sexual Assault
P.C.  22.011    Second Degree Felony
Case Number: 1505140016
A 24 year old female victim fought off an attack from a man in the parking lot of a south side nightclub.

The female told officers that she was walking to her truck after separating from her friends in the parking lot of a club located at 5702 South Staples Street.

Once at her truck, a male suspect grabbed her from behind and shoved her into her truck. The victim said he ripped her shirt as she fought him off. She continued to fight the male and was able to get away from him.

She was able to drive away from the scene and call police.

The victim was treated at Doctors Regional Hospital for her injuries.

She did not know the male but saw that he was wearing a button up shirt, blue jeans, and boots with a khaki visor or hat.

Officers continue to investigate this crime. At this time no suspects have been arrested.



“CHARLIE” District

Offense: Aggravated Robbery

A 29 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after three men kicked his front door in, shot him, and took money from inside his apartment located at 4101 Brett Street.

Officers arrived and observed several foot prints on the front door, and the door frame broken.

The victim told officers that he was on the patio area of his apartment when the three kicked the door in and shot him. The suspect’s then went into a bedroom, threw some items around and found some money.  They all left out the front door.

Witnesses told officers that they saw at least two males running down the stairs from the apartment after the shooting. They did not get a description of the first male, but stated the second male was wearing a dark colored top and red pants.

The victim was only grazed, near his temple, by the shot that was fired by one of the suspects.  He was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS for injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call for a stabbing at a home in the 1800 block of Comanche Street.

When officers arrived they were told by a man and women that their 22 year old son had woke them up and told them he had been stabbed.

Officers found their son in the kitchen of the home with a stab wounds to both his arms.

The victim told officers that he was outside of the house near Coke Street and Comanche Street talking to a male and two females.  He said that the three began to assault him and during the fight, one of the three stabbed him.  The victim was unsure what type of weapon was used.

The victim was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital  with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Officers located a crime scene at the street intersection and continue to investigate this case.

At this time no suspects have been arrested.

A 28 year old male victim was beaten by another man after the victim damaged his car.

Officers arrived and found the victim sitting on a bench in an open parking area of the apartments located at Morris Street and Fourteenth Street.   The victim had several deep lacerations to the side, top, and back of his head.

Officers were told by witnesses that the victim, who had been drinking, began to yell obscenities at the man from across the street. The victim then picked up a pipe and began to charge at the man.  He swung the pipe several times but missed.

The victim went back to his home and grabbed a kitchen knife and proceeded to flatten the rear right tire of the man’s vehicle. The victim then picked up a piece of the asphalt and attempted to throw the rock at the man.  When he did, he fell to the ground.

At that time the man began to kick the victim repeatedly, rendering him unconscious. The man continued to kick him in the head and face area while he was lying on the ground unconscious causing serious bodily injury to the man.

Officers arrested the man, Rodolfo Hernandez (03/31/1971) for aggravated assault.

The victim was taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS with serious head injuries.

The victim may also face criminal charges once he is released from the hospital.
