Corpus Christi Police were called after a male suspect attempted to steal 19 pairs of sunglasses and a couple of shirts from the Premier Yamaha Shop located at 7601 South Padre Island Drive.
Once outside, the male suspect attempted to flee the store, but was chased down by several store employees. He was held for a while, but he managed to escape by running across the freeway and into an apartment complex.
The male suspect dropped all of the property he was attempting to steal but left behind the motorcycle he drove up on.
Officers arrived at the store, and while they did not find the suspect, they did impound the 2003 Yamaha motorcycle.
The store employees told officers that the value of all the merchandise that the suspect attempted to steal was over $1000.
Officers continue to investigate this case, however, at this time no suspects have been arrested.

Just as the weather began to lighten up Thursday afternoon, Corpus Christi Police responded to a robbery at the Times Market located at 6410 Weber Road.
The 22 year old store clerk reported that a Hispanic male wearing a grey hoodie and grey pants walked into the store armed with a pocket knife. The suspect demanded a money bag that was under the counter. The clerk gave the suspect the cash and he fled out the door.
A witness in the parking lot observed the suspect get into a black Chevrolet Silverado truck with a chrome brush guard. The truck was last seen going north on Weber Road.
The suspect was not located and officers continue to investigate this crime.
The store clerk was not injured.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a one car crash with a house at the corner of Weber Road and Linden Drive.
The crash investigation revealed that the driver of a 2005 Chevrolet truck was traveling north on Weber Road when the driver lost control of his vehicle and drove into a chain link fence at 4002 Linden Drive. The truck also struck a window at the home causing minor damage.
After an investigation officers determined that the driver, George Papaioannou (04/10/1989), was intoxicated. He was taken at Spohn Shoreline Hospital but refused medical treatment for minor injuries. He was then arrested for driving while intoxicated.
Damage to property at the home on Linden Drive was estimated to be over $2500.
