A 34 year old man walked into Doctors Regional Hospital with a gunshot wound to his side.
Corpus Christi Police were called by medical staff and when they arrived to investigate the victim was not very cooperative. The victim gave Officers several different accounts of what had occurred and would not tell them where the shooting happened.
The only information obtained was that the victim was walking down South Port Avenue when he heard a gunshot sometime around 6:30 PM. He said he then walked to the hospital to get treatment.
Medical Staff at the hospital were treating the victim for a single gunshot wound to his right side near his ribs.
At this time no other information is known about this crime.

Offense: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

A construction worker called Corpus Christi Police after he arrived at a work site, located at 3875 South Staples Street, Annapolis Christian Academy, and a piece of heavy equipment had been stolen.
The worker told Officers that the Yellow Caterpillar Model 246 Skid Steer Loader was missing from where he left it parked the day before. The construction equipment was valued at over $40,000.
The construction worker was able to view video from the school that showed a person walking in the direction of where the loader was parked at about 4:30 AM. In the video, the lights of the loader are turned on and it travels out of view of the camera toward Weber Road.
The video footage of the incident is very short and no description was obtained.

A 81 year old barber called Corpus Christi Police after he was robbed by a man who’s hair he had just cut.
The barber told Officers that he was removing the cloth cape off the male suspect as he stood up from the chair. As the barber turned around to place the cloth on the counter, the suspect pushed him from behind, causing him to fall down and strike his head on the metal foot rest of the barber chair.
While the barber was on the ground the suspect reached into his cash drawer and stole money. The suspect then fled on foot.
The barber had two cuts to his head and he was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The only description of the suspect is that he was a black male with a slim build. At this time no suspects have been identified, and Officers continue to investigate this crime.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a call for a vehicle which had driven into the Water Gardens located at 1901 North Shoreline Boulevard.
When Officers arrived they found a silver Nissan Versa four door car had left the roadway and crashed into the shrubbery around the gardens. The driver then fled on foot, prior to police arrival, but witnesses pointed out the suspect to Officers.
Officers located him walking away and attempting to hide an object behind the sea wall. Officers took the man into custody and they recovered the object he had hidden and determined it was a bag containing Methamphetamine.
The driver, Trent Cerrito (06/07/1972), was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, and his vehicle was impounded.
