Patrol Report 06/25/2015 PIO2

The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 880 calls for service and generated 209 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. June 24 to 7:00 a.m. on June 25, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

 

“BRAVO” District

Offense: Burglary

The manager of a Car Wash, located at 9750 South Padre Island Drive, called Corpus Christi Police after she arrived at work to find the front door to her officer had been kicked in.

The manager told Officers that once suspects made it inside the office, a desk and several file cabinets were ransacked.  The suspects stole a money bag containing cash and also stole a television off the wall.

Damage to the business door was estimated to be $250.

At this time no suspects have been identified, and Officers continue to investigate this crime.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Corpus Christi Police responded to the McDonalds, located at 3745 South Staples Street, after a car crashed through the back wooden fence of the restaurant.

Officers arrived and found the 1996 Ford Crown Victoria in the back driveway of the restaurant near the drive thru lane.

Officers made contact with the driver and after an investigation determined that he was driving while under the influence of marijuana.  The driver, Mark Elizalde (08/17/1979), was arrested for driving while intoxicated and his vehicle was impounded.

He was additionally charged with possession of marijuana when Officers found a hand rolled cigar with marijuana inside on the floorboard of the car.

Damage to wooden fence was estimated to be nearly $200.

Corpus Christi Police responded to another McDonalds restaurant in the city early this morning after employees called in to report a female passed out in the drive thru lane.

Officers arrived at the restaurant, located at 4201 South Port Avenue, and found the female behind the wheel of a 2012 Kia Optima with the engine running and her foot on the brake pedal.

After an investigation Officers determined that the female driver, Madeline Leavell (12/27/1966), was intoxicated.  She was arrested for driving while intoxicated and her vehicle was impounded.

Offense: Accidental Shooting

A 33 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she accidentally shot herself in the foot at her home located at 474 Miramar Place.

The female told Officers that she was drinking heavily the night before and at some time she pulled out a 9 millimeter handgun, which she carries in her waistband, and fired the weapon at the commode in the bathroom. The shot shattered the toilet sending ceramic shrapnel through the bathroom. The victim was not wearing shoes at the time and several pieces penetrated her left foot.

The female gave herself first aid and did not call for an ambulance until the next day. CCFD EMS transported the female to Spohn Memorial Hospital MMC for treatment to her foot.

No criminal charges are expected to be filed in this case.
