The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 896 calls for service and generated 190 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. July 1 to 7:00 a.m. on July 2, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.


“CHARLIE” District

Offense: Hit and Run Crash

Case Number: 1507010010
A 26 year old female driver lost control of her truck after being hit by another vehicle traveling down the 4300 block of Holly Road.

The female told Officers that she was driving her, 2013 GMC Sierra truck, east on Holly Road when she was side swiped by a vehicle on the passenger side of her truck causing her to lose control and leave the roadway.

Her truck struck a light pole and then went through a wooden fence striking the two vehicles in the driveway of a home at 4341 Montego Drive.

The vehicle that hit her truck fled the scene and was not located.

The driver, and her 31 year old female passenger, were both transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS with injuries not believed to be life threatening.

A 19 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after his car was stolen by a man he was meeting with to purchase a phone.

The victim told Officers that he had contacted the man on Craigslist about purchasing an I Phone 6.  They agreed to meet in front of an apartment complex located at 6617 Weber Road.

The victim was sitting in his car when the suspect walked up and he got out.  At that time the suspect threatened him and demanded his money.

The victim then took of running from the area, leaving his car behind.  The male suspect got in his 2001 Honda Civic and drove off.

The victim was not injured.

The stolen car was later found abandoned in the 3600 block of Way Out Weber Road.  The suspect, who was not located, was described was being a tall teenage black male.

Officers are still investigating this case, and at this time no suspects have been arrested.

Offense: Evading Arrest

Corpus Christi Police Officers were looking for a wanted person in the 600 block of 22nd Street when they saw the man take off running from them on foot.

After a short foot pursuit, an Officer caught him hiding under a bush behind a home in the 600 block of Bluntzer Street. While jumping over a backyard chain link fence, running after the suspect, the Officer sustained a minor cut to his right forearm and right hand.

The wanted person, Herman Sosa (11/15/1975), was captured and taken into custody.

CCFD EMS treated the Officers injuries at the scene.

The suspect was wanted on two outstanding arrest warrants. One of the warrants was for burglary, the other was for sexual assault. They were both issued on June 24, and both had $50,000 bond amounts. The suspect was additionally charged with evading arrest on foot, a Class A misdemeanor.
