The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 946 calls for service and generated 223 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. July 23 to 7:00 a.m. on July 24, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Corpus Christi Police took a report for a stolen vehicle from a female at her home located in the 4000 block of Wood River Drive.

The female said that her 2012 Chevrolet Cruze sedan was taken from her driveway. About two hours later, an Officer on patrol observed the stolen car with two people inside traveling in the 1600 block of Caldwell Street.

Officers were able to get the vehicle stopped and arrested the driver, Thomas Walker (10/18/1991), for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was also found to have an outstanding warrant out for his arrest for failure to appear on a theft warrant.

The passenger in the car, Terry Brumley Jr. (06/15/1983), also had an outstanding warrant out for his arrest for possession of a controlled substance and he was arrested.

The vehicle was returned its owner.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer was in the parking lot of a bar, located in the 4600 block of Everhart Road, when she heard a shot fired across the street from her location.

The Officer went to investigate and found the suspect, Levi Colton Taylor (09/20/1995), in the parking lot of an auto parts store standing next to his parked vehicle.

A witness was also located and he told the Officer that he had seen two men start beating up another man in the parking lot. The witness then saw the suspect get out of his vehicle and fire a pistol into the air. This stopped the fight, and the three involved ran off.

Officers located a .45 caliber pistol in the suspect’s vehicle and he was arrested for discharging a firearm.

No one involved in the fight was located.

A 33 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he arrived at his home located in the 3200 block of Shallow Creek Drive and found his truck had been broken into and his camera surveillance lenses had been painted over.

The man said he had come home from work and noticed his security cameras were blacked out. He went outside and observed that someone had sprayed black paint on the lenses of the cameras.

When the video was replayed, the man saw a Hispanic male, about 30 years of age, pull up to his home in a red Ford F150 truck and walk up to the camera and spray the lenses.

The suspect then attempted to remove a Yeti cooler from the bed of the homeowners parked 2012 Dodge Ram truck. The suspect was unsuccessful in his attempt and left the cooler behind.

Officers believe the suspect left the area in the red truck.

At this time no arrest have been made in this case.

Several people called Corpus Christi Police after they heard shots being exchanged between individuals in the 300 block of Cheyenne Street.

When Officers arrived they found a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix abandoned in the driveway of a home located at 326 Cheyenne Street. The car had been struck twice on the passenger side by bullets.

Officers also found two shells in the middle of the roadway.

Witnesses told Officers that they saw two men standing behind the Pontiac firing toward a grey SUV. After shooting the two men took off running through the backyard of home on Cheyenne Street,

During the investigation, Officers also located a home at 324 Cheyenne Street that had been struck by a bullet.

Officers impounded the abandoned Pontiac, however, no suspects were ever found. There is also limited information on the SUV that was exchanging gunfire with the suspects.

No one appears to have been injured, and Officers continue to investigate this case.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the Auto Nation Toyota car dealership, located at 6672 South Padre Island Drive, after an employee reported that someone had crashed through a back gate and then stole three used cars.

The employee at the car dealership told Officers that a 2008 Toyota Tundra truck, a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 truck, and a 2012 Volkswagen Passat were taken.

The Dodge truck was later found parked in the sand at the end of 200 Gulfspray Avenue on North Beach. The Toyota Tundra was found abandoned just after 2:30 PM yesterday in the 4100 block of Molina Drive. The Volkswagen was found abandoned in the 1200 block of Clarion Drive just after 9:30 PM last night.

All three vehicles were returned to Auto Nation.

Officers continue to investigate this case, however, no arrests have been made.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a man after he stole a forklift from a restaurant located at 10309 Leopard Street.

Employees of the Tortilla Guadalajara reported that their 2000 Yale forklift was taken sometime the previous evening. An employee then spotted it stuck in caliche at the corner of East Harrington Drive and Leopard Street.

When Officers arrived they also found a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV with a utility trailer attached to it also stuck in the caliche next to the forklift. Officers found a suspect trying to get other people to help him get the vehicle, the trailer and the forklift unstuck.

The suspect, Dekel Nash (12/30/1975), was arrested for stealing the forklift. When Officers found out that the trailer attached to the Chevrolet was also stolen form a home in the 2900 block of East Harrington Drive, he was additionally charged with stealing the utility trailer.

The trailer and forklift were both returned to their owners.
