The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 876 calls for service and generated 226 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. August 2 to 7:00 a.m. on August 3, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Case Number: 1508020119
A 23 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after someone stole her cell phone while she was pumping gas at a store located at 5939 South Padre Island Drive.

Officers arrived and were told by the female that she was filling her car up at the gas pump, when a black male in a maroon Ford Flex took her cellphone from her car.  The suspect was seen pulling up to the victim’s vehicle on the passenger side while she is standing on the driver’s side. The suspect was then seen exiting his vehicle, crawling on the ground to the victims 2014 Volkswagen Passat. He then opened her car door, and he took a Samsung Galaxy phone from the passenger seat. He then closes her door and gets back into his vehicle and leaves the parking lot.

Officers are attempting to find store video to assist them in this case.

At this time no suspects have been arrested.

A 32 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after two men came into her home, armed with weapons, demanding money.

Officers arrived and were told by the female that two black males walked into the house through an unsecure front door. The female attempted to go into her bedroom but the suspects followed, pointing a gun at her.

Inside the bedroom sleeping, was a 67 year old female. The suspect carrying a pistol then fired a shot that struck a wall above the bed. The suspects started ransacking a purse which was on the bed, taking items from inside. Both suspects then fled the scene.

One of the suspects was described as being between 20 and 30 years of age, wearing a red sweater, blue jeans and a red bandanna over his face. He was carrying a pistol and he is the one that fired the shot into the wall.

The second suspect was also between 20 and 30 years of age, and he was wearing a black sweater and blue jeans. He also had a red bandanna covering his face. He was armed with a black AK-47 style rifle.

Officer’s recovered a shell casing from the room.

Neither of the females were injured.

At this time, neither one of the suspects has been identified.

A female was arrested by Corpus Christi Police after she stole a truck from a man who had gone inside a bar in the 1000 block of Josephine Street.

The female had taken the 2004 Toyota Tundra truck after it was parked at the bar by a man. About an hour later, the female showed up in the parking lot of a motel, located at 845 Lantana Street, driving the truck.

She got into a disturbance with two men and another female outside, causing someone inside one of the rooms to call the police.

When Officers arrived in the parking lot of the motel to investigate, everyone had left, except the female in the stolen truck.

Officers arrested Lisa Medrano (12/15/1981), for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

The Toyota truck was returned to its owner.

A female went to jail after she threw a portable fan at her boyfriend.

A 43 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after his girlfriend got mad at him after he locked her out of their apartment, located at 4040 Schanen Boulevard.

The man said that his 20 year old daughter finally let the female in, and once inside, she walked into the bedroom where he was laying down.   The girlfriend picked up an electric portable fan and threw it him, striking him in the head.

He was not seriously injured, but the fan was destroyed.

The female, Stephanie Villarreal 11/02/1971), was arrested for assault.

Corpus Christi Police responded a fatal crash involving a motorcycle in the 1800 block of Ocean Drive.

The crash investigation revealed that a 22 year old man was driving a 2004 Yamaha motorcycle south on Ocean Drive with a 16 year old female passenger on the back.

The motorcycle driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when he struck the right curb, causing him to lose control, and slide the motorcycle on the roadway on its right side.

The man, who had just purchased the motorcycle, was wearing a helmet and suffered only minor injuries.   He was taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital for observation.

The female, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown off the motorcycle and suffered severe head injuries. She was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital. She was pronounced dead on August 1.

This crash remains under investigation by Corpus Christi Police Traffic Investigators.  At this time no criminal charges been filed.
