Corpus Christi Police, with the assistance of the Naval Air Station Police, took a man into custody after he made 40 silent or abusive calls to 911.

Metrocom was able to ping the location of a cell phone being used by the caller and found it was coming from a location on the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi.

NAS Police went out and found the man, William Orth (10/18/1960), with the cell phone in his possession.

He was turned over to Corpus Christi Police and arrested.

Offense: Driving While Intoxicated

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a bus bench in the 5200 block of South Alameda Street.

When Officers arrived they found a 2013 Ford F150 truck had drove off the roadway and struck a light pole, a bus stop bench and a sign. After an investigation, the driver, Carl Saenz (12/01/1960), was determined to be intoxicated and he was arrested. He was taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into the City Detention Center.

Damage to the RTA property and the city light pole, that had a flashing school zone light on it also, was estimated to be over $10,000.

A female who had assaulted her boyfriend over text messages she found on his phone was arrested for assault.

Corpus Christi Police arrived and found a female walking through the apartment complex in the 7200 block of Sparkle Sea Drive. When they told her to stop, she ran from them on foot.   She was found hiding in the driver’s seat of her parked car with the seat laid back. Officers saw her and arrested her.

After an investigation, it was determined that the female had assaulted her 34 year old boyfriend after she found text messages on his phone from another female. After being assaulted, the boyfriend attempted to call 911, but the female grabbed his cell phone and prevented him from calling.

Officers arrested the female, Erica Funes (01/20/1987), for assault, interfering with an emergency call, and evading arrest on foot.

The boyfriend declined medical treatment.
