The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 977 calls for service and generated 247 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. August 24 to 7:00 a.m. on August 25, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

A 26 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was robbed while riding his skateboard to work.

The victim told Officers that a newer model silver Lincoln Towncar with large rims pulled up next to him, and three Hispanic males got out and one was armed with a gun. Two of the three suspects were wearing masks.

The suspects demanded money and took cash from the victim and then left. The victim was not injured.

Officers are still investigating this case, and at this time no suspects have been arrested.

The manager of a business, located at 11020 Leopard Street, called Corpus Christi Police after he arrived at work and found a hole in the roof of his pawn shop.

It appears suspects made entry into the Gold and Things Pawn Shop through the ceiling and after climbing down into the store they smashed several glass display cases and took several trays of jewelry.

The manager told Officers that eight trays of rings were missing. Each tray held 60 to 80 rings. Several bracelets and necklaces were also stolen.

The estimated cost of jewelry taken is about $150,000, and there was $2000 in damage done to the store.

At this time Officers are still investigating this crime, however, no suspects have been identified or arrested.

Location: 12900 Redbird Lane
Offense: Damage to Vehicle

Corpus Christi Police Officers were investigating a single car crash in the 12900 block of Redbird Lane and called for a wrecker to pick up the wrecked vehicle.

When the wrecker driver arrived, he was maneuvering his truck into a better position to pick up the crashed vehicle when he drove up and onto the curb. This punctured the bottom of his left fuel tank causing a spill.

CCFD responded to put down some absorbent material to help contain the fuel spill. The fire department also contacted Miller Environmental Company to come pick up the absorbent material off the road sometime early this morning.

The right lane on the access road will remain closed until the road is cleaned up. Traffic can still proceed on the left lane.

Corpus Christi Police were called after a customer sitting at a bar reached over the counter and removed two bottles of alcohol from the bartenders well.

When Officers arrived in the parking lot of the Out Of Bounds Bar, located at 1402 Rodd Field Road, they were told by the bar manager that they had observed, on video, a man who had been sitting at the bar reach over the counter and grab a bottle of Jack Daniels valued at $105.

He was also seen a short time later reaching over again and grabbing a bottle of TAAKE gin valued at $35.

The man, Alick Blake Garcia (09/15/1993), was attempting to leave the parking lot in his car with the liquor inside when Officers arrived.

The man was arrested for theft, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a man that broke into a restaurant located at 4200 South Alameda Street.

Witnesses told Officers that they saw a male suspect force the front door of the business open and then go inside. Once inside the man began opening coolers and boxes inside the restaurant.

Witnesses were able to keep an eye on the suspect until Officers arrived and they found him in the back alley of the business.

Officers were able to arrest the suspect, Juan Rios (05/16/1987), for burglary.
