Patrol Report 10/19/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 758 calls for service and generated 180 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. October 18 to 7:00 a.m. on October 19, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

Offense: Burglary

Two businesses were broken into in the 4400 block of Prescott Street.

Officers, answering an alarm call, arrived and found that the telephone wires to the Prescott Meat Market, and the Cornerstone Christian Church had both been cut. The suspects pried open the back doors of both business to gain entry inside.

Officers continue to investigate this crime, and at this time it is unknown if any property was removed from either business.

A 27 year old man who was trying to sell an XBOX on Craigslist was robbed when he met up with the buyer at an apartment complex in the 800 block of Derry Drive.

According to the victim, he had got a reply from someone interested in purchasing the game console. He went to drop off the merchandise and said he called the buyer on his phone when he arrived at the front gate of the apartment complex. The buyer gave him the gate code to enter the parking lot, and they met outside one of the apartments.

The buyer insisted on plugging the game console in to make sure  it worked before paying for the item. While he was walking toward an apartment with the buyer, another male pushed him from behind knocking to the ground.

Both men ordered the man to stay on the ground. The two males then went through his pants pockets and stole the key to his vehicle, his wallet, a phone and the XBOX. Both men then fled the scene.

The victim was not seriously injured.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a stabbing in the 4600 block of Carroll Lane.

When Officers arrived, CCFD EMS was treating a 35 year old male vicitm, who had been stabbed twice.  They then transported him to Spohn Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Officers were told that the suspect,  David Calderon (07/10/1967), borrowed a friend’s vehicle to go look for a female he had purchased an Apple TV from several days earlier but he was not given the remote control.

The suspect found the female who had sold him the TV with no remote at a convenience store in the 3900 block of South Padre Island Drive. She was with the male victim and another female inside the store. The suspect asked the female for the remote control to the TV. When she said she did not have it, the suspect left the store. As he walked into the parking lot, he took her purse from inside her car.

When the female got to her car, she told the couple she was with that the suspect had stolen her purse. They all drove to the suspects house in the 4600 block of Carroll Lane where the victim confronted the suspect on the front porch about the theft of the female’s purse.

The two began to fight, during which the suspect stabbed the victim in his stomach and forearm.

Once Officers arrived they found the female’s purse.

The suspect was arrested for aggravated assault and theft. He was additionally charged with having an outstanding warrant for his arrests for possession of marijuana.

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to the La Quinta Motel, located in the 500 block of South Padre Island Drive, for an assault.

When they arrived they found two male victims, age 34 and 56, who told them that they were drinking in the parking lot when a large group of people who had just come from a wedding arrived and words were exchanged.

About seven males in the group walked over and attacked both victims. They were hit and kicked and beer bottles were thrown at them.

The older male victim had a handgun that was in his waistband taken from him. All of the men took off running on foot prior to police arrival.

Both victims were treated at the scene by CCFD EMS but they refused to go to the hospital.

At this time, the identities of the seven suspects are unknown.
